While fans of the anime are still reeling from Maki's latest fight and the massacre of the Zenin Clan, Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel has also been spicing things up on the manga's side of things.

The battle between Mahoraga and Dabura has finally reached its climax, and just when fans expected it the least, Modulo has finally brought back the one character fans have been waiting for the most in the sequel. Much to the surprise of many, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo recently revealed that Yuji was still alive, opening up the possibility of his return in the sequel.

Since then, tensions between the sorcerers of Japan and the Simurians have intensified, and with it, so has the search for Yuji. And now, right when he was needed most, Yuji has finally made a comeback in the sequel, establishing himself as the new Gojo in the process.

Yuji Itadori Finally Returns in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

And He's Stronger Than Ever

Yuji returns in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Despite Mahoraga having fully adapted to Dabura's technique, Chapter #19 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo sees the battle rage on. Meanwhile, hoping to limit the number of casualties, the human sorcerers plan to clear out some of the Cursed Spirits in the area, only to run into the Simurians, who are weary of the sorcerers interfering in the duel.

Just as the two groups are about to clash, Yuji makes an unexpected appearance at the scene, remotely casting Piercing Blood and interrupting the confrontation between the Simurians and the sorcerers. The chapter sees Yuji nonchalantly skewer the entire building with Piercing Blood's arrows, with his control and mastery over the technique having clearly grown since fans last saw him in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Although Yuji's hood remains on, it's also clear from his latest appearance that he has not aged despite being about 83 years old in the sequel. It's still unclear whether Yuji will step into the ongoing duel between Dabura and Yuka, though by the looks of things, he's certainly there to defuse the situation.

Yuji May Meet the Same Fate as Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

All that said, with this one appearance, Yuji has already cemented himself as the new strongest sorcerer of the series. While he may not have the Six Eyes, Yuji does possess vast Cursed Energy reserves, Reverse Cursed Technique, and two Cursed Techniques, namely Blood Manipulation and Shrine.

Over the 68 years that have passed since the big battle against Sukuna, there's no doubt that Yuji's skills and his Cursed Energy manipulation have been honed to the point of making him a beast surpassing Gojo Satoru, and fans get a glimpse of this growth in the latest chapter of Modulo.

That said, with Yuji being so powerful, there is also the risk of the sequel killing him off to allow the story to progress and give the new cast room to grow.

It is doubtful whether there's anyone, human or Simurian, capable of defeating Yuji at the moment, but the possibility of him meeting the same tragic fate as Gojo did in Jujutsu Kaisen remains nonetheless. If it is inevitable, fans can only hope Modulo gives Yuji the spotlight in one final epic fight first.
