3 28 Days Later (2003)

2 Parasite (2019)

Bong Joon-Ho's Parasite remains timely over six years later. The South Korean drama centers on a lower-class family who infiltrate the lives of a wealthy family by being hired for different roles and pretending they don't know each other. Ho delivered an intriguing story that delivers surprising twists and meaningful commentary on class inequality.

Parasite was a critical darling upon its release, and transformed how international films perform at the Oscars. It became the first non-English-language film to win Best Picture, and also won Best Director, Best International Feature, and Best Original Screenplay at the 2020 Academy Awards. 1 The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
