It's been speculated that the villain of Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be an amalgam of two existing villains in the Godzilla franchise. The Godzilla x Kong: Supernova directory posted by the Writer's Guild of America has made it abundantly clear exactly who it is that Godzilla and Kong will be up against in their next Monsterverse movie - SpaceGodzilla.

In 1994's Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, the villain was created when Godzilla's DNA - which made it into outerspace as a result of events in previous Godzilla films - was mutated by the energy from a black hole. In turn, the monstrous creature now known as SpaceGodzilla was given life.

Of course, the Monsterverse may offer its own interpretation as to how its SpaceGodzilla was created. It could naturally use the same backstory as the movie it's based off of, or it could root his backstory in the Hollow Earth world, not unlike what the Monsterverse did in regards to Mechagodzilla and the Skar King.

Orga's Origin Story Could Be To Used To Introduce SpaceGodzilla

Another realistic possibility is that Godzilla x Kong: Supernova borrows a concept from a different Godzilla film. In Godzilla 2000, the King of the Monsters did battle with Orga, an extraterrestrial organism that came to Earth and set its sights on Godzilla in attempt to use his supreme power for itself.

Orga developed the monstrous form it possesses in the movie by absorbing Godzilla's DNA and using it to gradually transform himself into a clone of Godzilla. The reason he doesn't look quite like Godzilla is due to the fact that the process was never fully completed.

Theoretically, the idea behind Orga's creation could be utilized as a basis for how the Monsterverse's SpaceGodzilla comes into being. Like Orga, he could be introduced as an alien lifeform that comes to Earth seeking a host body that would allow him to become a force to be reckoned with, and there would obviously be no better candidate than the alpha of all the Earth's Titans.

Ultimately, this seems more feasible than simply repeating what Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla did, which may come across as a bizarre set of circumstances.

Merging With Orga Avoids The Problems Of Most SpaceGodzilla Theories

Drawing inspiration from both Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla and Godzilla 2000 to create Godzilla x Kong: Supernova's villain would also avoid the problems plagued by most of the potential scenarios behind his Monsterverse counterpart's origin.

Because Godzilla isn't exactly one-of-a-kind in the Monsterverse, it's long been speculated that SpaceGodzilla is a member of Godzilla's species. Perhaps in a way similar to how Godzilla obtained his "Godzilla Evolved" form, this creature may have absorbed power either from the Hollow Earth world or a meteor, and in turn, transformed into SpaceGodzilla.

It's also been suggested that SpaceGodzilla may have responsible for the original Titan War. Either way, such a reveal would likely amount to SpaceGodzilla being an old enemy to Godzilla or Kong. The existence of another ancient Titan threat from Godzilla's past wouldn't be surprising, but it would be predictable.

King Ghidorah, Skar King, and even Mechagodzilla (who is essentially Ghidorah reborn), are villains Godzilla has prexisting history with. Rather than risk this becoming tired, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova may be better served making SpaceGodzilla an entirely new opponent for Godzilla.
