When the 69-year-old outspoken Democrat started getting press for her boycott, she clarified Saturday: 'I LOVE Jimmy Kimmel & watch him every night. I would never "slam" him.
'I simply said I would watch him next week because I didn't want to look at Carrie Underwood (for obvious reasons) who was his guest that night.'
The 'obvious reason' was the fact that the 42-year-old American Idol #4 champ performed America the Beautiful a cappella during President Donald Trump's swearing-in ceremony at his 2025 inauguration.

At the time, Underwood explained she was 'honored' to 'be a small part' of the historic event, telling People: 'I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.'
