Apple has announced Apple Creator Studio, a new subscription bundle that combines several of the company’s professional creative applications into a single plan. The subscription is designed to cover video editing, music production, image editing, motion graphics, and general visual productivity across macOS, iPadOS, and iOS.
Apple Creator Studio brings together Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage, along with additional premium features and content in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Some future features are also planned for Freeform later in 2026. The service will be available starting January 28, 2026, through the App Store.
What’s Included in Apple Creator Studio
The subscription provides access to the following apps and features:
-
Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad
-
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad
-
Pixelmator Pro for Mac and, for the first time, iPad
-
Motion, Compressor, and MainStage for Mac
-
Premium content and intelligent features in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers across Mac, iPad, and iPhone
Apple confirmed that the macOS versions of Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage will continue to be available as one-time purchases outside of the subscription.
Video Editing Updates in Final Cut Pro
Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad gains several new AI-assisted tools aimed at speeding up editorial workflows. Transcript Search allows users to locate dialogue or spoken phrases by typing text, while Visual Search enables clips to be found by searching for objects or actions within footage. Both features rely on on-device processing and require compatible Apple silicon hardware.
Another new feature, Beat Detection, analyzes music tracks and displays beats and song structure directly in the timeline, allowing editors to align cuts more easily to music. On iPad, a new Montage Maker tool can automatically assemble clips into an edited sequence based on visual analysis, with options to adjust pacing, music syncing, and aspect ratio conversion for vertical formats.
The subscription also includes Motion and Compressor, with Motion gaining access to Magnetic Mask for isolating people or objects without the use of a green screen.
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad receives new AI-driven features focused on composition and arrangement. Synth Player joins the existing Session Player tools, generating electronic music parts that can be customized through performance controls. Chord ID analyzes audio or MIDI recordings and converts them into chord progressions that can drive Session Player performances.
Additional updates include an expanded Sound Library with Apple-produced content, Quick Swipe Comping for Logic Pro on iPad, and natural language search tools that allow users to find loops by describing them in plain English.
MainStage is also included in the subscription, allowing performers to use Mac systems for live instruments, vocal processing, and guitar rigs based on Logic Pro sounds. I use MainStage extensively for live music work and highly recommend it.
Pixelmator Pro Comes to iPad
One of the more notable changes is the introduction of Pixelmator Pro on iPad. The iPad version features a redesigned, touch-optimized interface with full Apple Pencil support, while maintaining feature parity with the Mac version. Tools include layered editing, bitmap and vector masking, image upscaling, background cleanup, and composition suggestions.
Subscribers also gain access to a new Warp tool and a set of mockup templates in both the Mac and iPad versions of Pixelmator Pro.
Productivity Apps and AI Features
Apple Creator Studio adds premium templates, themes, and a new Content Hub to Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. The Content Hub provides curated photos, graphics, and illustrations for use in presentations and documents.
The subscription also unlocks AI-assisted features such as image generation, layout cleanup, draft presentation creation in Keynote, and formula generation and data filling in Numbers. Apple states that some of these features rely on third-party AI models and may require newer operating systems and compatible hardware.
Importantly, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform remain free to use without a subscription, with Apple Creator Studio only required for premium content and advanced features.
Pricing and Availability
Apple Creator Studio will be available beginning January 28, 2026, at the following prices in the United States:
-
$12.99 per month
-
$129 per year
A one-month free trial is included for new subscribers. College students and educators can subscribe for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. Family Sharing allows up to six users to access the subscription under one plan.
Why This Matters for Photo and Video Creators
For photographers and video creators, Apple Creator Studio represents a shift toward a consolidated, subscription-based creative ecosystem. Instead of purchasing Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro individually, users can access the full suite for a lower upfront cost, especially if they work across multiple disciplines such as video, audio, and image editing.
The addition of Pixelmator Pro on iPad strengthens Apple’s mobile editing story, while AI-assisted tools in Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro suggest a continued focus on speeding up technical tasks like searching, syncing, and transcription. For creators already invested in Apple hardware, the bundle may simplify software decisions.
Conclusion
Apple Creator Studio brings together Apple’s professional creative tools into a single subscription aimed at creators who work across video, audio, imaging, and presentation workflows. With expanded AI features, the debut of Pixelmator Pro on iPad, and continued support for one-time purchases on Mac, Apple is positioning the service as both an entry point for new creators and a consolidation option for professionals already using its software.
