Adam Peaty's family have given their verdict on the Beckhams after Brooklyn's outburst against his mum and dad on social media on Monday night.
And Caroline and Mark Peaty's viewpoint is something of a surprise, according to a family source.
While Brooklyn is not speaking to his famous parents, Adam Peaty is also estranged from his - disinviting them to his recent wedding to Holly Ramsay, with David and Victoria taking their place in 'family' photos.
They told The Sun: 'We think the Beckham situation is very sad. Brooklyn stated he wanted communications through solicitors then proceeded to post on social media.
'What he has put in his statement doesn't tally with what we know of the Beckhams. If that's what he says is his truth, who are we to mainstay but we support the Beckhams.
'Brooklyn wouldn't have had the opportunities he has had but for his parents. Would he be married to his wife were he not a Beckham?'
Their words are somewhat surprising as it was claimed earlier this month that Adam's estranged family were 'left distressed' after they were 'maliciously' emailed a photo of their estranged son with the Ramsays and Beckhams on his big day.

Adam, 31, tied the knot with TV chef Gordon Ramsay's daughter Holly, 25, at Bath Abbey on December 27, amid a bitter feud which saw his mother Caroline disinvited and his sister Bethany the only relative in attendance.
The photo of the newlyweds, which was taken for a glossy spread in Vogue magazine, saw them stood besides Gordon, his wife Tana and the chef's youngest son Jesse, two, as well as Sir David and Lady Victoria.
A source told the Daily Mail: 'When the picture pinged into a close family member's inbox we were honestly shocked. Why would someone send us a photo from a wedding we were all banned from apart from Adam's sister.
'We're not sure if it was sent in error or maliciously to make us suffer even more. It has caused us unnecessary anguish and distress and we can't show it to Adam's mum Caroline. She would't take kindly to it.'
The source added: 'It shows the bride and groom with just her parents and their best friends and with the Beckhams posing where Caroline and Mark should be!
Meanwhile another source told The Sun, who first reported the story: 'Gordon's son is there too but not Adam's'.
Adam shares five-year-old George, who was present at the ceremony, with ex-partner Eirianedd Munro.
It comes after Gordon insisted that his wedding speech was 'perfect and warm', doubling down after sparking outrage with the athlete's mother.
The TV chef appeared on This Morning alongside his younger daughter, Tilly, 24, on Monday morning, where he opened up on watching the couple wed.

There are many similarities between the Ramsay/Peaty and Beckham/Peltz feuds
The Sun reported that in his father of the bride speech Gordon commented on how beautiful Holly looked and told Adam he was a 'lucky man', adding: 'Look at Tana and that's what you have to look forward to.'
The publication goes on to claim that Gordon couldn't resist a sly dig at Adam's absent parents he told his daughter Holly: 'Shame you don't have the same.'
It was later revealed that swimmer Adam's estranged mother had been left 'outraged' and 'hurt' that Gordon referred to their bitter family feud in his explosive father of the bride speech.
A family source told the Daily Mail she was left horrified by the moment in the speech and believes the celebrity chef had 'pre planned' the cruel swipe against her, calling it 'cruel' and 'very hurtful'.

Adams' parents were excluded from key pre-wedding events and were not invited to his wedding with Holly - leading to a public family dispute.
While, the Beckham family fallout has its roots in Brooklyn and Nicola's 2022 wedding and escalated over events like dress decisions, perceived slights at the ceremony, and later non-attendance at major Beckham family celebrations.
The eldest son of David and Victoria, 26, launched a blistering attack online about his parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51, and brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, on Monday.
He made a series of bombshell allegations where he accused his parents of 'controlling' him, trying to ruin his marriage, humiliating him and his brothers being 'sent to attack me on social media'.
Since, Brooklyn has directed another pointed message at his family, who he insisted he has no desire to reconcile with.
Brooklyn has changed the profile photo on his Instagram to a picture of the back of his head, displaying his tattoo of wife Nicola Peltz's eyes.
Sources told the Daily Mail that Victoria has been left 'devastated' as the gulf that has publicly existed between mother and son widened into a seemingly unbridgeable chasm.

Among six stinging posts to Instagram on Monday night, the wannabe photographer and food influencer accused them of trying to pressure him into a deal, adding that when he refused, they haven't 'treated him the same since'.
Insiders close to the family protest there was no 'bribe' or pressure, insisting the move – in the lead up to his 2022 Florida wedding to billionaire's daughter Nicola – was to protect Brooklyn amid one of Sir David's many commercial deals.
The Beckhams' rights demand came, it was said, after David signed up with a US brands firm – selling 55 per cent of DB Ventures to Authentic Brands Group for £200million – that would have meant his and Victoria's commercial partners would have some right over their surname.
In his surprise social media posts, Brooklyn claimed: 'Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future.
'They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.'
But an insider hit back, saying: 'The agreement that Brooklyn was asked to sign was to protect his rights because his parents have commercial partners who have some rights over the Beckham name, and so it ensures that the kids are carved out of that.'
Sources, however, also believe that Brooklyn was potentially 'turned against' signing the paperwork by those connected to Nicola, who some believe may have managed to persuade him it was not a good idea.
Meanwhile, David, 50, was heckled yesterday as he faced the media at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Beckham family feud took more sensational turns yesterday as Brooklyn's explosive tirade set off a series of stunning claims and counter-claims
Brooklyn's statement included claims that Victoria had 'hijacked his first dance' and 'danced very inappropriately on me', leaving the nepo baby 'uncomfortable' (pictured at the wedding)
Brooklyn has been isolated from his family, including parents David and Victoria, brothers Romeo and Cruz, and sister Harper, for years, with the feud reaching fever pitch this week
When asked about the feud, he declined to answer any direct questions but he later spoke, somewhat ironically, on the perils and virtues of children using social media.
In an interview on CNBC's Squawk Box, he said that he has tried to 'educate' his own children about the dangers of social media apps while also showing them how they can work for 'good'.
'I've always spoken about social media and the power of social media for the good and for the bad,' he said on stage.
The former Manchester United star said he'd been able to use his 'platform' and his position as a Unicef ambassador to 'make people aware of what's going on around the world for children'.
He added: 'I've tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.
'They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn.'
David also filmed a podcast with US popular science author Adam Grant, but emphatically refused to answer any questions relating to Brooklyn.
As the drama gripped the nation, even Downing Street waded in, with a spokesman for Prime Minister Keir Starmer offering his opinion.
They said it was a private matter for the family, but added: 'The Prime Minister has always been clear that diplomacy is very important.'
A number of celebrities including Lily Allen, presenter Vogue Williams, Piers Morgan and comic Katherine Ryan also waded in on the drama.
Brooklyn Beckham's statement in full
I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.
My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.
Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.
They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.
During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me "evil" because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.
The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was "not blood" and "not family." Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I've received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.
Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.
My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.
She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.
My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.
Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad's birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.
When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn't invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.
My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family "love" is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations.
We've gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show 'our perfect family.' But the one time my wife asked for my mum's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.
The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.
I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.
