Savannah Guthrie is sharing a health update after undergoing vocal cord surgery that has kept her off the Today show.

Guthrie has been absent from the NBC morning show after discovering she had vocal nodules and a polyp. To take care of this, she would have to have surgery, which would entail being off Today for a couple of weeks as she recovers.

In a post on social media, the morning talk show host shared an update on her recovery, captioning the post, “See you soon!”

Guthrie shared a picture of herself holding up a whiteboard that read, “All good! Thanks for prayers and love.”

It was on December 19, 2025, when Guthrie revealed she would take some time off the Today show to undergo surgery.

“I am going to have a surgery real early in the new year and be off for a couple of weeks. So it’s my last day for a little while. So I just want to let everyone know, and if you’ve been wondering, do I have the world’s longest head cold? No, I don’t,” Guthrie said.

“You’ll love this, guys. I have to be silent for a couple of weeks, totally silent,” she said, adding, “the jokes write themselves.”

Guthrie joined the Today show as co-host of the third hour in June 2011 and was elevated to co-anchor in 2012. Guthrie is a New York Times bestselling author for her book Princesses Wear Pants and the sequel Princesses Save the World. The book was adapted into a Netflix animated series, Princess Power, in 2023, which ran for three seasons.
