Apple TV's acclaimed comedy series The Studio has gotten an exciting season 2 filming update at the Golden Globes. The Studio was positively received by critics when it aired in 2025, currently sitting with a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Seth Rogen-led series went on to win for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy and Best Male Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.

Now, while speaking to press backstage at the Golden Globes, Rogen confirmed The Studio season 2 is gearing up to begin filming next week. The star of the series explained how the awards ceremony he was attending could make a return in season 2, hinting that some elements of it have already been written into the season.

The Studio season 1 ended with Rogen's Matt Remick and his fellow producers and filmmakers at Continental Studios presenting at CinemaCon in front of a large crowd. Despite a multitude of setbacks, they end up having a generally successful presentation, laying the groundwork for how season 2 is going to play out.

Based on Rogen's statements about The Studio season 2, it sounds like the series will continue to parody aspects of Hollywood while also being a love letter to filmmaking as an art form. This careful balance is what helped make the initial season so popular, while also aiding in its 13 Emmy nominations and 3 Golden Globe nominations.

In addition to confirming the series will be filming soon, Rogen also spoke about how the show has gotten plenty of attention from stars and executives across Hollywood, many of whom want a guest appearance. Since the cast of The Studio season 1 was full of guest stars, from Dave Franco to Martin Scorsese, there's likely room for many more in the future.

For now, though, the exact nature of season 2's story remains under wraps. Outside of pulling inspiration from awards ceremonies like the Golden Globes, there's no telling what Rogen and the other creators of the series have in mind for how events will develop. There's also no word on when the show will return, given new episodes haven't started filming yet.

Luckily, The Studio's wins at the Golden Globes and Emmys signify the level of quality to expect from the series as a whole, including the forthcoming season 2. With filming starting so soon, it won't be long until exact plot details are unveiled, including who else might be making a significant guest appearance in the series.
