Netflix's biggest long-term movie success only currently has one movie challenger that comes even close to its months-long record on the streaming service. With Netflix having countless movies and shows available for viewers to watch, the matter of which releases end up being the most lastingly popular is a fascinating one, as it's one that transcends social trends, and reveals which series truly resonated with audiences.
That said, the installments that end up holding their places on Netflix's most-watched lists can oftentimes be very different, despite having this shared longevity. While this has been clear at several points throughout Netflix's history, the past few weeks have provided a potent example of just this, via Netflix's latest long-lasting movie hit, and the film that comes closest to catching up to it.
Only One Other Netflix Movie Currently Comes Even Close To KPop Demon Hunters' 31-Week-Long Top 10 Record
Currently, KPop Demon Hunters is well into its deserved and striking 31-week-long reign in Netflix's global weekly top 10 roster, having held a space on this list for many months now.
While the majority of the rest of the movies that crop up in Netflix's weekly top 10 most-watched movie selection tend to only hold this spot for a few weeks even if they are well-regarded and much-seen, the platform does have one other film that has currently managed to maintain a place on this list, even though it's likely not one of the films that would first occur here to many.
This is because said film is none other than Paw Patrol: The Movie, a 2021 film that came to Netflix on July 2024 - a year and a month before KPop Demon Hunters' debut on the streaming platform.
Due to its immense popularity with the younger audiences it's aimed at, Paw Patrol: The Movie has maintained a place on Netflix's weekly top 10 most-watched movie roster for 17 weeks currently, making it KPop Demon Hunters' only real competition in this regard at this point in time.
Why Paw Patrol The Movie Could Match (Or Even Beat) KPop Demon Hunters Top 10 Week Netflix Record
Netflix's younger audience often influence whether specific releases will break into the top 10 Netflix charts for movies and television - particularly as some younger viewers are oftentimes more likely to revisit their favorite stories many times over, and revisit them on a weekly basis as well.
With Paw Patrol being one of the most popular shows aimed at children in the modern era, it's no surprise that its movie spinoff has fared so well on Netflix. Given the film initially released several years ago - and released on Netflix a fair chunk of time ago - it's also safe to say this success has passed the test of time, meaning it's very likely the film will remain in Netflix's top 10 most-watched films in the weeks to come.
Ultimately, this does make it possible for Paw Patrol: The Movie to contend with and match or beat KPop Demon Hunters' weekly success depending on how the iconic 2025 animated movie fares now that we've passed the half a year mark of it remaining in the top 10 most-watched films on Netflix. That said, the fact it also seems possible KPop Demon Hunters' success could continue on indefinitely is a true testament to the quality and popularity of the movie even all these months later.
