After wowing audiences at last year’s SXSW festivities during its world premiere and captivating viewers at both Stiges and SXSW Sydney, today marks the arrival of the trailer for Aaron Silverstein’s feature-length directorial debut, The Infinite Husk. Collider is thrilled to give our readers an exclusive first look at the unique yet classic feeling sci-fi film, which is slated for a limited theatrical run on February 6 with a digital release to follow in March. The incredibly trippy, vibrant, and topsy-turvy movie sees Silverstein, who also produced, penned, and composed the project’s score, pull on inspiration from genre classics like Blade Runner and Arrival to keep audiences on a pulse-pounding thrill ride from opening title to credits.

Starring Peace Ikediuba (Scam City), the trailer for The Infinite Husk introduces us to an alien named Vel, who has been sent to Earth and now inhabits a human body, otherwise known as a husk. Washed over with neon lights and bright reds, oranges, and greens, the teaser follows Vel as she embarks on a mission to track down one of her fellow aliens and retrieve them for purposes that aren’t entirely clear. But, her quest might not be as easy as she envisioned, and — to make matters worse — the stakes are incredibly high after learning that should she fail, she’ll never be allowed to return to her home planet.

Hailing from the relatively new distribution company, Chroma, The Infinite Husk is the latest addition to a wide catalog of films that are already leaving their stamp on the genre and beyond. In addition to Silverstein’s dip into the psyche with his sci-fi thriller, the distributor is also behind recent favorites like Andy Crane and Nathan Shepka’s biblical horror flick The Baby in the Basket, Nick Laurant’s The Girl in the Back Seat, and Diana Mills Smith’s Dinner to Die For.

Who Else Stars in ‘The Infinite Husk’?

While the storyline largely focuses on Ikediuba’s alien on the hunt, the supporting cast behind The Infinite Husk also includes Circus-Szalewski (Mindhunter), Geena Alexandra (Snow White and the Seven Samurai), William Thomas Jones (The Real Murders of Los Angeles), Michael Jon Murphy (Let Me Go), Foreste Jean Feely (You and I and Everything Else), Gary Lee Reed (This Is Us), Saskia Baur (Murdersville, USA) and more. In addition to Silverstein, Mitchel McKenzie and Christine Sohail join as producers.

Check out our exclusive first look at the trailer for The Infinite Husk above and see it in select cinemas on February 6 or on digital in March.
