On Tuesday, A24 unveiled the first trailer for The Death of Robin Hood, a dark reimagining of the Robin Hood myth starring Hugh Jackman as the character, which is slated for release in theaters this year, at a date not yet disclosed.
Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, the filmmaker behind the Nicolas Cage-led Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One, the thriller finds Robin Hood (Jackman) grappling with his past, after a life of crime and murder — and gravely injured, after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman (Jodie Comer), he is offered a chance at salvation.
Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe also star.
A24’s 2026 slate kicks off with Charli xcx’s The Moment, which hits theaters January 30 after premiering at Sundance. At present, their other films slated for release this year include John Patton Ford’s How to Make a Killing (February 20) starring Glen Powell, Ian Tuason’s buzzy horror pic The Undertone (March 13), Dream Scenario helmer Kristoffer Borgli’s The Drama (April 3) starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, and David Lowery’s Mother Mary (April 24) starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel.
