Popular influencer and rapper Jimmy McMahan dies in motorcycle crash one day after sharing cryptic hospital post

Influencer and rapper Jimmy McMahan, also known as 'Whyte Folkz', has died at age  50 following a fatal motorcycle accident.

According to WREG, a motorcycle was discovered at the scene of a crash on Monday at the intersection of Saratoga Road and Millington Road in Millington, a small community in Memphis, Tennessee.

Police alleged to the outlet that McMahan 'lost control of his motorcycle and struck two parked vehicles.'

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The City of Millington also confirmed to the news station that there was a single victim involved in the accident. 

McMahan's identity was later confirmed by his manager.

His post comes just one day after sharing a cryptic social media post that appeared to show him in the hospital. 

Over his career, McMahan amassed more than 120,000 followers on Instagram, where he shared comedic videos and posts documenting his life. 

His sudden death has prompted an outpouring of grief from family members, friends, and fans.

A GoFundMe page created by McMahan's family to help cover funeral expenses described him as a beloved presence in their lives.

'Whitefolkz was more than a brother - he was a son, a friend, and a light to everyone who knew him,' the page reads. 'His laughter, loyalty, and love will never be forgotten. He lived with passion and left a lasting impression on all our lives.'

The fundraiser also included a longer message reflecting on the family's loss.

'Tonight, January 19, 2026, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. My brother, Whitefolkz, tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident. He was taken from us far too soon, and our hearts are broken,' the statement continued. 'Whitefolkz was more than a brother - he was a son, a friend, and a light to everyone who knew him. His laughter, loyalty, and love will never be forgotten. He lived with passion and left a lasting impression on all our lives.'

The message explained that donations would go toward funeral and memorial costs, as well as supporting the family during what they described as an 'incredibly difficult time.'

'We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as to support our family during this incredibly difficult time,' the family wrote. 'Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow us to focus on honoring Whitefolkz's life and memory.'

They added, 'We are deeply grateful for the love, support, and kindness we've already received. Thank you for helping us honor Whitefolkz and keep his memory alive.'

Tributes also poured in on social media following news of McMahan's death. 

In a Facebook post, his daughter-in-law Tonya shared a heartfelt message remembering him for the joy he brought to those around him.

'To know my brother in law was an honor! Never a dull moment, my stomach and ribs would hurt for days after spending a day with him! His heart was so big no matter who you were,' she wrote. 'You will always be remembered for the true one. All the amazing memories with you will last forever! Jimmy Mcmahan @highlight. I will always know the real you the BoBo!!'

McMahan's final social media activity appeared to come one day earlier, on January 18, when he shared a video on Instagram that showed him seemingly inside a hospital. 

At the time, he asked his fans to 'please pray' for him and showed an IV inserted into his arm with blood in the tube. 

No additional details surrounding the post or the circumstances of his medical visit have been made public.
