Image via Apple TVApple TV’s Pluribus might be one of the most talked-about sci-fi shows of last year, but if you’re waiting for Season 2, prepare to sit with that mystery for a while. Breakout star Karolina Wydra just delivered a sobering update while speaking to Collider’s Maggie Lovitt at the 2026 BAFTA Tea Party — and it sounds like Vince Gilligan has no intention of rushing the series. Wydra, who plays Zosia on the eerie slow-burn drama, couldn’t stop gushing about how life-changing the experience has been for her. After taking five years off to focus on being a mother, landing a role on a Vince Gilligan series felt surreal.
“I took a break for five years to be a mother, and to come back and be on [a] Vince Gilligan show has been a dream of dreams,” Wydra said. “Everything that’s happening is a pinch-me moment. I cannot believe this is what’s happening, and the love that the show has received has been truly incredible.” She also shouted out Rhea Seehorn, who plays Carol Sturka, celebrating her recent Critics' Choice win and teasing that more awards could be on the way. But when Lovitt asked the question we all want an answer to — whether Season 2 dates are locked in — Wydra’s answer was… not comforting. She said:
“Listen, I wish I knew something. I have no idea. I don’t know anything. I’m waiting impatiently. I’m like, please. I wouldn’t be back in Albuquerque. I wouldn’t be back on set. So I don’t know how long it’s gonna be. Hopefully not too long.”
How Good Is 'Pluribus'?
Collider's Carly Lane wrote in her review of the series that Pluribus marked Gilligan’s bold return to sci-fi, blending the emotional weight of Better Call Saul with the unsettling mystery of The X-Files. Lane's review praised the show’s refusal to over-explain, its haunting tone, and its darkly funny, deeply human storytelling. With stunning direction, layered writing, and rich chemistry between Seehorn and Wydra, Lane called Pluribus one of Apple TV’s most original and rewarding dramas, writing:
"Pluribus succeeds at being a show unlike any other you've watched before, one that's only improved by going in with very little advance knowledge. Alongside Gilligan, writers Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Ariel Levine, Vera Blasi, Jenn Carroll, and Jonny Gomez have crafted something truly special here, made even better with the assurance that a second season has already been guaranteed. The best surprises are the ones that come out of nowhere, and in that vein, Pluribus could very well be one of 2025's greatest — but it's also proof that Gilligan is only getting better at delivering great television."
Pluribus is streaming now on Apple TV.
