Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke's friend, who is also a part of his management team, set up a GoFundMe campaign to avoid eviction after owing $60,000 in rent.
Rourke was served a notice in December 2025 to pay roughly $60,000 in back rent or leave his Los Angeles home. In response, his friend Liya-Joelle Jones is asking for $100,000 on the popular fundraising platform. So far, the campaign titled Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home has raised $12,950 at the time of this article's publication.
The blurb on the page described how difficult things got when Rourke decided to take a break from Hollywood. After stepping away from acting to pursue a career in professional boxing, the entertainment industry had turned its back on him. This made it hard for him to get more mainstream roles when he tried to get his foot back in the door, leaving him financially unstable.
The campaign said that Rourke being a celebrity didn't shield him from life's many challenges. The fundraiser stressed that a career in the spotlight certainly isn't one that guarantees a steady income. Once one project wraps up, the talent who worked on it is not guaranteed another role afterwards, making the job incredibly nerve-wracking as they never know when the next paycheck will come. It added that, at the end of the day, he is still a human being who deserves a home.
The actor has also suffered from many health issues alongside his financial woes and eviction notice. Rourke reportedly struggled with these problems for several years, and it has only gotten worse.
Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home. Life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk.
Mickey’s life never followed a safe or protected path. At the height of his success, he stepped away from Hollywood in search of truth and authenticity, choosing risk over comfort. Boxing—real and punishing—left lasting physical and emotional scars, and the industry that once celebrated him moved on quickly. What followed were years of struggle not defined by spectacle, but by survival: health challenges, financial strain, and the quiet toll of being left behind. Today, Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home.
Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability. What remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing, and the chance to regain his footing.
According to People, Rourke was reportedly served a notice demanding payment of $59,100 in overdue rent to his landlord, Eric Goldie, on December 18, 2025, or he would need to vacate his residence. This information comes from a complaint filed on December 29, 2025, which was obtained by the publication. According to the filing, Rourke did not meet the deadline because he was not home when it was mailed to him. Along with the back rent, Goldie is also allegedly seeking reimbursement for legal fees.
