Every superhero fan knows that when the Incredible Hulk gets angry, the middle of a crowded city is the worst imaginable place for him to unleash his fury. But the madmen at Marvel Comics are taking that logic to an extreme, transforming not just a human-sized menace, but Godzilla itself into its newest form of living bomb. And if that wasn't terrifying enough, Knull the God of Symbiotes has engineered a kaiju-sized symbiote to make the carnage of Godzilla: Infinity Roar that much more ridiculous.

Marvel Has Transformed Godzilla Into A Living Bomb (Literally)

As Revealed in Godzilla: Infinity Roar #1 by Gerry Duggan, Ig Guara, Javier Garrón, Jesus Aburtov

The shocking cosmic adventure follows as a direct sequel to last year's Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe series, in which the surprise arrival of Godzilla saw the Hollywood icon test its strength and durability against the worst Marvel could throw at it. The heroes succeeded in exiling Godzilla onto a distant, dead world. But as happens in the Marvel Universe, the titan accidentally crossed paths with Knull, the God of Symbiotes. And a villain like the King in Black won't let a weapon like Godzilla pass him by.

But even the wildest dreams of a Knull-empowered Godzilla pale in comparison to the first preview of Infinity Roar, revealing Knull's actual plan: dragging a symbiote-caged-Godzilla from world to world, and dropping it onto the planet to unleash total destruction.

Already, the claims made by writer Gerry Duggan that "the ideas in the mix are going to make this the biggest, craziest and most dangerous Godzilla crossover ever" are starting to make more sense. Because even for comic fans hoping a Knull/Godzilla alliance would be something to remember, a Godzilla-bomb followed by a symbiote assault was likely 'too wild' to expect.

How Much Can Knull Conquer With His Symbiote-Godzilla?

The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda Can't Possibly Survive, Can It?

As thrilling as it was to behold the first tease of the Venom-Godzilla in early artwork, knowing the context has drastically raised the stakes. As the preview pages show, Godzilla is now emerging into a full symbiote-fueled rage in the heart of Birnin T'Challa, the capitol of the sprawling and advanced Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. An attack that will attract every hero in the universe, to come and clean up their mess all over again.

It's obvious that the creative teams still has plenty of surprises in store, if this is what's being revealed in the official preview. But until the full issue arrives, fans will just have to rely on their imaginations, along with the official plot tease from Marvel:

The combined forces of Earth’s mightiest heroes managed to spare Earth by exiling Godzilla off into space... but in doing so may have just heralded the end of the larger galaxy! As Knull, the god of the symbiotes fans the flames of Godzilla’s anger, a new campaign for galactic conquest begins with the King of the Monsters and the King in Black at the helm! Will the cosmos be able to band together to stop the two juggernauts, or will a new era of death and destruction descend upon the cosmos? One thing's for sure, from the Galactic Empire of Wakanda, Shi’ar Empires, Kree-Skrull space and beyond, no planet will be safe as Godzilla destroys the Marvel galaxy!

Godzilla: Infinity Roar #1 arrives on February 4, from Marvel Comics.
