She's the 'Goddess of Go-Go' who topped the charts in 1982 with her smash hit Mickey.

While more than four decades have passed since the release of Mickey, Toni Basil is still just as fierce and fabulous as ever.

At age 82, the legendary performer now keeps busy as a choreographer and dance teacher.

Fans often run into Basil at various dance competitions across the US and internationally, where she regularly appears as either a guest judge or a performer.

In September, she even made an appearance on Dancing With The Stars to help actress Elaine Hendrix out with a routine to Mickey.

Basil looks remarkably young for 82, with the star often leaving fans stunned by her age-defying appearance on social media.

'Can we just accept that dancing is the fountain of youth? Toni has barely changed in 40 years! She's an absolute legend,' wrote one.

'You literally haven't aged a day! Maybe you are the mother of a vampire?!' another commented.

A third added, 'She's actually so legendary in the industry I can't believe she's being labeled a one hit wonder.'

According to The Guardian, Basil, who never married or had children, currently lives alone 'in a wonderful house in Los Angeles' with her five cats.

Basil is still a fixture in Hollywood, having choreographed Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

She also made a brief cameo in the film, dancing alongside Sharon Tate (played by Margot Robbie) during a Pan Am flight scene in the opening credits.

In addition to her choreography career, Basil also acted, with roles in counterculture classics like Easy Rider (1969) and Five Easy Pieces (1970).

Basil was born Antonia Christina Basilotta on September 22, 1943, in Philadelphia.

With a vaudeville performer for a mother and an orchestra leader for a father, showbiz was always in her blood.

Of Italian descent, Basil was raised in Las Vegas after her father relocated the family there for work.

She graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1961, where she served as head cheerleader – a role that would later help define her signature style.

The iconic cheerleader outfit she wore in the Mickey video wasn’t a costume, it was her actual high school uniform, repurposed decades later for one of the most unforgettable pop visuals of the 1980s.

Basil was around 38-years-old when she released her chart-topping hit Mickey

Released in 1982, Mickey hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as in Canada and Australia.

Basil's debut album Word of Mouth was certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies, but her self-titled follow up failed to chart, so Basil gave up her pop career after that.

Reflecting on her stint as a chart-topping singer, Basil told The Guardian, 'I never thought of it as anything but a time period. It was just a train ride.'

She continued, 'I was able to earn a living, I had fabulous, talented friends that were all doing something similar, but like Bowie, we all evolved.

'Dance styles change, music changes, so if you keep up with the trend, you change.'
