Line of Duty producer World Productions has brought in a development boss following the departure of Emma Luffingham to Pathé UK.

Bad Sisters alum Kathryn Shrubb has joined the ITV Studios-owned indie as Head of Development, leading World Productions’ strategy to get shows from paper to screen. She has worked for a number of indies in development over the years. While at the BBC, she script edited and helped develop award winning series such as Three GirlsSilent Witness, and Luther. Meanwhile, Mr Bates vs the Post Office and The Hack exec Joe Williams has joined World as Executive Producer.

Shrubb replaces Emma Luffingham, who was revealed to be making a high-profile switch to Pathé UK as Creative Director TV, yesterday, reporting to Faith Penhale, as Pathé continues building out its English-language division.

World boss Simon Heath said: “We’re delighted to welcome Kat and Joe to the World team. They bring with them great credits and reputations, and I can’t wait to see the shows they help to create over the coming years.”

Upcoming, World has the seventh season of Line of Duty – one of the BBC’s biggest dramas of all time which is finally returning after years of rumor. There is also a third run of the BBC’s Vigil, ITV’s The Party and Netflix’s From Brazil.
