Katie Price, 47, admits her relationship with JJ Slater, 31, was 'over ages ago' and she didn't want to 'waste her time' anymore

Katie Price has revealed her relationship with JJ Slater was over 'ages ago' and she didn't want to 'waste my time'.

The Daily Mail revealed that the former glamour model, 47, split from the Married At First Sight UK star, 31, earlier this month after nearly two years together, with the pair ending things after Katie realised JJ wasn't 'husband material.' 

But Katie has now claimed on the latest episode of her podcast The Katie Price Show that she and JJ actually parted ways some time ago.

She said: 'I don't wanna waste my time. You know, if I'm not loved up and it's not going, these are mistakes I've made in the past.

'You stay, just go along, and then it ends up getting nasty. Yeah. And I don't want that. So I'd rather have nipped it in the bud sooner rather than later.

'But yeah, I was there at Christmas, because, you know, the family and stuff, because it was already arranged, but it was over ages ago, really.'

On Wednesday, Katie posted a series of poems and quotes about soulmates and relationships. 

The first, from Mike Poetry read: 'They say falling in love takes time. But it's not true. Falling in love only takes the right person - the one who knows exactly what you need, without having to ask.'

Another post was about recognising your soulmate and the 'divine' signs a person will notice when they meet them. 

Finally, Katie shared another quote which read: 'My mum always says when you meet the male version of yourself is when you meet the love of your life.'

Meanwhile, JJ revealed he's been hitting the gym since his split from the model, as he shared a glimpse of his weight loss on Instagram.

Following the end of his relationship with Katie, JJ told his followers that he'd already lost six pounds after joining forces with an online coach.

Posting a video on his Stories, he said: 'About ten days ago I put up [posted] that I've been working with Kieran from Konditioning Coaching.

'He's an online coach. I've never had one before but I thought that I'd give it a go.

'We're 10 days in, and I'm 2.8kg down which is obviously a blinder. Yeah he holds me accountable, he sorts out my nutrition, sorts out my workouts, makes sure I'm doing my steps, my cardio.

'And if I'm not doing it he'll call me up and be like ''J what are you doing.'''

JJ finished his post by telling his followers that he hopes to bring them along with him on his weight loss journey. 

He added: 'If you're not sure about getting an online coach maybe seeing my journey might help you decide on that but yeah, shout out Kieran and more to come on this.'

Katie and JJ began dating in February 2024, after JJ rose to fame on E4's Married At First Sight UK. 

Katie even spoke of having a child together, her sixth, but in the end, it wasn't meant to be.

A source previously told Daily Mail: 'Katie has had doubts for some time about whether JJ is husband material, but she hoped those concerns would fade. 

'Instead, her fears only grew, and she's now accepted the relationship will not end with her walking down the aisle for a fourth time.

'JJ was left disappointed and has already packed his bags and moved back to his home in Essex. 

'He genuinely saw a future with Katie, but it seems she ultimately had a very different outlook.'

The Daily Mail contacted Katie and JJ's representatives for comment at the time. 

Fashion entrepreneur JJ had appeared on the 2023 series of Married At First Sight UK, where he made headlines for dating transgender bride Ella Morgan despite marrying another contestant during the experiment.

Katie has been married three times, to singer Peter Andre, 52, with whom she shares children Junior, 20, and Princess, former cage fighter Alex Reid, 50, and personal trainer Kieran Hayler, 38, the father of her youngest two children, Jett, 12, and Bunny, 10.

She is also mother to son Harvey, whom she shares with footballer Dwight Yorke, 54.
