Home Alone star Daniel Stern has been dropped from an ABC pilot comedy after he was charged with a single misdemeanor of engaging or agreeing to engage in prostitution.

The actor, 68, was issued a citation December 10 for allegedly soliciting a prostitute at a Camarillo hotel in California.

He was not detained or arrested in connection with the incident.

A hearing for Stern's case is scheduled for February 6. He could face up to six months in jail and up to a $1,000 fine if convicted.

Before the citation, Stern was cast as a series regular in the upcoming comedy Do You Want Kids? alongside Rachel Bloom and Rory Scovel.

The show follows married couple Rosie (played by Bloom) and Alex (Scovel) who in one universe have a baby, but in the other, they do not.

Stern was set to play Freddy, the gruff patriarch of the Zilbalodis family, however ABC has confirmed to Daily Mail the role is being recast.

Daily Mail has contacted Stern for comment.

The Home Alone actor was due to play a series regular in the comedy Do You Want Kids?

Stern is best known for starring in the first two Home Alone films as Marv Murchins, one of the bumbling burglars alongside Joe Pesci as Harry.

He previously revealed he had to fight to get a raise for the sequel.

When the original 1990 Home Alone movie became a box office hit and a sequel was greenlit, Stern recalled the studios approaching him with an offer of $600,000.

In his 2024 memoir Home and Alone, the actor revealed the offer was double his salary from the first movie, but his co-stars had received multi-million starting offers.

He said he asked Twentieth Century Fox for more money Joe Pesci, who played his Wet Bandits sidekick, was making around $2 million to $3 million.

Stern's last television role was in 2023 when he played Eli Hobson in the fourth season of the Apple TV sci-fi series For All Mankind.

He last appeared on the big screen in the 2019 film James vs. His Future Self, directed by Jeremy Lalonde.

The movie starred Jonas Chernick as James, a scientist researching time travel whose life is turned upside down when his older self, played by Stern, arrives from 17 years in the future to demand that he stop.

Stern was famously played Wet Bandit Marv Murchins alongside Joe Pesci's Harry

In December, Stern revealed he has left Hollywood behind and now lives on a farm and grows tangerines.

Sharing a clip to TikTok, he said: 'Hello, as you have come to discover, I live on a farm and we grow tangerines here.

'They came and picked them the other day and I like to have them pick me a bin and then I juice them up, and then I freeze them and give them away to my friends.

'I just wanted to show you what is it like, here are our tangerines, there is my bucket.'

In another video, which racked up over 1.6 million views, he showcased one of the impressive sculptures he was working on.
