As award season kicks off with both the Critics Choice and the Golden Globes already ticked off this year's list the A-listers are out in force as they grace the red carpets.

Wowing in their custom made dresses and exuding Hollywood glam they appear at home in this glitzy world, yet for many home couldn't be more opposite.

Numerous stars are ditching the classy lifestyle for a more wholesome more simple farm life.

From Amanda Seyfried and Millie Bobby Brown to fashion models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, when they aren't fronting magazine covers they are getting out and about in the great outdoors.

While some have chosen to reside out in the sticks to maintain a level of privacy for their families, some have turned to farming for a level of escapism from their intense jobs on set.

Meanwhile for JLS star JB Gill he was always passionate about farming, even during the peak of the band's fame, and has gone as far to provide turkeys at Christmas for his showbiz pals.

Amanda Seyfried

Shunning the showy California lifestyle of most American movie stars, Amanda Seyfried has made the upstate New York hamlet of Stone Ridge her home as she wanted a quiet town to raise her young family in.

Despite her estimated net worth of $16 million there is no luxurious LA mansion and the family are surrounded by animals at the house including their beloved dog Finn, a goat, pig, four chickens, a rooster and two rescued cats.

She previously told Forbes that after a glitzy event, 'the next day I'll be home and even happier in my boots in the mud feeding the animals.'

She and her husband of ten years actor Thomas Sadoski bought the home there in 2013 so their children - daughter Nina, eight, and son Thomas, five - could go to local schools and grow up outside of the spotlight of their famous parents.

She previously told Forbes: 'Staying here was the best decision for privacy, peace and nature. It offers a more balanced life than the city does.'

She added that having pets at home with her kids has taught them about care and responsibility from a young age.

Amanda said: 'I think all pets give us purpose. And because they do so much to enrich our lives, we are responsible for theirs - which includes managing their health and wellness.'

She is always gushing about her hometown, telling the publication: 'Even the grocery store is special. It's the classic small-town grocery. There's a lot of local things happening. And then I go to the farm stand. Everything you get is absolutely local. But I also have a garden.

'Having a peaceful place to call home means I can better acclimate to the faster lifestyle of the city, the high-energy of press events and life on-set.'

Millie Bobby Brown

She soared to fame in her breakout role as Eleven in the Netflix hit Stranger Things, which wrapped for good in an epic finale on New Year's Day.

However away from the promos and premieres, Millie Bobby Brown has always talked of her love of animals, famously recalling how she raised her pet lamb in her bed.

Last year it was reported the star, who is married to Jake Bongiovi, has 62 pets on her sprawling farm in rural Georgia where the couple manage an animal rescue.

Millie has given fans a glimpse of her countryside life on Instagram, sharing snaps with some of the animals on the farm which reportedly includes donkeys, goats, horses and sheep.

Although Millie 'barely checks her phone and largely delegates social media duties', she is aware of the trad wife content on social media which overly romanticizes domestic labour and a return to 'simpler times'.

'I'm not doing it for the aesthetic,' she told Vanity Fair. 'I'm doing it because I love it. There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not.

'If you're not picking up horse s**t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.'

During an appearance on Drew Barrymore's show last year she recalled how she found out her donkey Bessie was pregnant after testing her herself on her own ultrasound machine.

A friend of the actress' said: 'Millie is leading exactly the life she wants, on her farm in muddy boots, surrounded by rescue dogs and goats. She's never been happier.'

Kendall Jenner

While by no means a humble abode, Kendall Jenner has also bought into farm life at her $23 million Montecito Ranch.

The model, 30, purchased the property back in February last year but kept it under the radar, per the US Sun.

The residence sits on six acres of land, while the main house itself is 15,000 square feet - and smaller homes also sit on the property.

The model's neighbour is Oprah Winfrey, with the ranch previously owned by Ellen DeGeneres as well as Tinder co-founder Sean Rad.

Over Christmas she shared a look at her ranch as she kicked off the clip showing her Christmas tree through a window, as well as the rustic kitchen with dark walls and a wooden island in the middle.

She also spent time with her horses at the stables and rode the animals around the property, which has trails as well as olive groves.

The farm spans five distinct structures: a main house, three guest cottages, and a barn — all unified under Yolanda's design vision.

She previously told The Daily Mail: 'Eight years ago, after my divorce and years of battling chronic neurological Lyme disease, I needed to get away from the noise of city life.

'I longed for a sanctuary where I could heal and reconnect with Mother Earth just the way I grew up in Holland.'

She continued: 'When I found the farm, I instantly fell in love… there were no gates at that time so I parked on the main road and walked down the long driveway, the energy was unbelievable. I instantly knew I was home even before I saw the buildings.'

The property is where Gigi gave birth to her daughter, Khai, alongside her then-partner Zayn Malik, her mum, sister Bella, a local midwife and the midwife's assistant.

Gigi also owns her own farmhouse property, in New Hope, in one of Bucks County’s most coveted areas.

The farm has been featured in photoshoots for some of the biggest fashion magazines and in series like Harper's Bazaar: Food Diaries.

Last September it was revealed Yolanda had officially listed her farm on the market for $10.888million however it was later pulled from the market in late December.

Jodie Marsh

Jodie Marsh turned her back on fame to run Fripps Farm just north of Dunmow in the North Essex countryside and the model has become known for housing many rescued animals at the five acre property.

The farm is home to more than 250 animals, most of which the former reality television star says have been rescued.

The animals include emus, llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and deer. There is also an enclosure full of peacocks and chickens, with geese and ducks roaming around.

As well as relying on donations to help run the farm, Jodie recently returned to her glamour model roots to help fund the farm.

She launched an OnlyFans account and has earned thousands selling X-rated photographs of herself.

Jodie explained: 'We needed to put perimeter fencing around the whole entire farm, and that cost £65,000. I funded that entire thing from my OnlyFans.

'For the first year my OnlyFans also paid all my staff. I never took a penny for myself.

'Now, I probably only make a couple of grand a month on it, because I've been really slack on it because I'm so busy with the animals.

'But I'm back posting again so that should shoot up again now.

'Back when I was paying the staff wages I was earning around £10,000 a month.'

Fripps Farm hasn’t been without its controversies amid neighbour rows and court battles.

Last June, Jodie was left in tears of joy after winning a court battle to keep lemurs at the sanctuary.

She had appealed against a council’s decision to refuse her application for a wild animal licence. Concerns had been raised about her taking a meerkat to the pub.

JB Gill

Despite touring the world with JLS after they soared to fame following their success on the X Factor, JB Gill wasn't tempted by the shiny city life.

Instead he invested his earnings into a £1.5million farm in Kent where he lives with his wife Chloe and children Ace, 11, and Chiara, seven, as well as their pigs, chickens and turkeys - which he provides for his showbiz pals at Christmas.

Explaining his choice to bring his children up in the countryside he said:  'The farm has been fantastic when it comes to bringing up our family. The space in lockdown was invaluable.

'I've always loved my food. I grew up in the Caribbean so learning about where my food comes from and how it's made is very close to my heart.

'I have family members that were fishermen and ran local bakeries, so it's in my blood and having the opportunity to do that here has been amazing.

JB previously said that while many people assumed he threw himself into farming as a result of the group's split, it has been an interest he pursued long before (JLS pictured in 2008)

JB previously said that while many people assumed that he threw himself into farming as a result of the group's split, it has been an interest he pursued long before the group announced they were going separate ways.

'I've been involved in it for some time and it's something I care about deeply,' he told HELLO! magazine.

'I never wanted to be a "gentleman farmer" and have someone else running everything. I made sure I did extensive research beforehand.

'I want to learn everything I can about the industry because there is so much to learn.'

His farm has also been the inspiration for his recent children's books, Ace and the Animal Heroes.

JB explained: 'The reason for my books are to teach kids where their vegetables and food come from and making it into a fun story.

'I've always enjoyed writing. It's something that I've done as part of JLS with our songwriting, and really it's just been an extension of that. And reading to my children, there's no better feeling than that.'

Kelvin Fletcher

Soap star Kelvin Fletcher ended up becoming a farmer by 'accident' after quitting his life as a soap actor on Emmerdale.

The actor, who played Andy Sugden in ITV serial Emmerdale for 20 years, and his actress wife Liz best known as Cold Feet’s Rosemary, bought a 120-acre farm on the edge of the Peak District in 2020.

They look after 100 sheep, 30 pigs, 10 horses, six chickens, a cat and a dog on their farm while they are parents to four children, Marnie, nine, Milo, six, and three-year-old twin boys, Maximus and Mateusz.

After winning Strictly in 2019, the world of opportunity seemed great for Kelvin, but then lockdown hit.

The actor, who played Andy Sugden in ITV serial Emmerdale for 20 years (pictured), stumbled into farming during Covid when his job opportunities dried up in the world of showbiz

The diary emptied and one day Kelvin spotted a farm with a ‘for sale’ sign, and fell in love. Life lurched in the most unlikely direction... by 'accident'.

Kelvin explained: 'We didn’t do it [buy it] because we wanted to be farmers. We wanted something different.

'We looked at all sorts of places but the thought of this quiet, idyllic life got us. Then, lo and behold, it’s not as quiet as you thought. There are sheep, so you think, "I’ll get some more sheep". Then it snowballs.'

Since buying the farm the pair have fronted their own farm series Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure and Fletchers' Family Farm.
