What to Expect in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2, Episode 1

Frieren Beyond Journey's End Season 2 Preview of Episode 1 featuring Frieren and Fern falling on Stark

The synopsis for episode 29 of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has been revealed on the anime's official website, along with preview images of the beloved characters on their next adventure. Frieren Season 2's premiere episode is titled "Shall We Go Then" and teases that Frieren, Fern, and Stark will find themselves falling into a tight spot.

Frieren, Fern, and Stark leave the magical city of Äußerst and follow the path to the Northern Plateau. Along the way, they fall through the loose ground into a hole. There, a sealing mineral with the power to nullify magic spreads everywhere. Frieren and Fern are unable to use magic and search for a way to the surface, but a monster appears.

This confirms Frieren Season 2, Episode 1, will start adapting Chapter #61 of the manga, kicking off the Continued Northern Travels Arc. This isn't just the perfect storyline to recapture what fans love about the dynamic between Frieren, Fern, and Stark; the season will begin with tension, as the characters find themselves defenseless against any attack due to their inability to use magic.

That means Stark could very well steal the spotlight in Frieren Season 2 and use his strength to protect Frieren and Fern. Furthermore, the previews show the episode will also feature more of Frieren's flashbacks to the moments that shaped her with her former party.

Therefore, fans will get to see more of Himmel. With an animation quality that seems to be on par with its previous season, Frieren Season 2 is already shaping up to be one of the best of 2026, so fans should definitely keep an eye out for its premiere.
