The first Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer may have hidden a major MCU flashback in plain sight. Following the official integration of Netflix's Marvel characters into the MCU in season 1, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will raise the stakes with a long-awaited rematch between Daredevil and Kingpin. Naturally, new and familiar faces will enter the fray.
Marvel Studios doesn't waste any time revealing the return of Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, as well as the debut of Matthew Lillard's Dr. Charles. Daredevil: Born Again season 2's first trailer also reveals Matt Murdock's new black suit and suggests Wilson Fisk will be physically stronger than ever. Notably, the trailer also teases a Foggy Nelson flashback, which may play an important role in the plot.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2's First Trailer May Reveal Matt's Reaction To Thanos' Snap
The Events Of Avengers: Infinity War Might Be Acknowledged By Daredevil
Besides Foggy Nelson's flashback, the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer may also include a flashback to the peak of Matt Murdock and Karen Page's relationship. In one shot, Matt and Karen are dancing together, when Matt suddenly collapses in pain. One theory about Matt Murdock's apparent seizure is that his heightened senses are going haywire as he feels the effects of Thanos' snap during the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
The MCU has yet to show how many characters reacted to Thanos' snap in 2018. Given how he perceives the world, Daredevil must have sensed the chaos unfolding. Countless hearts that stop beating and organisms that get erased from existence, including plants and animals, would certainly overwhelm Matt Murdock's superhuman senses.
Thanos' Snap Needs To Play A More Significant Role In Future MCU Stories
Post-Infinity War MCU Installments Have Largely Overlooked Thanos' Snap
Each MCU movie and show places its focus on its own plot and themes, so exploring the snap's aftermath in full depth across multiple projects would be impractical. Still, the MCU has underestimated the event. Seeing how characters like Daredevil, the Punisher, the Eternals, and entire civilizations across the universe reacted to the snap is long overdue.
Even more importantly, the five years of the Blip must be filled with untold stories. The worldwide chaos that comes with such an apocalyptic-level event would certainly keep street-level heroes like Daredevil busy. In theory, there should be multiple seasons' worth of Daredevil and The Defenders hiding in the Blip. At least one flashback to the moment of Thanos' snap would be more than welcome.
