EXCLUSIVE: Canada’s Blue Ant Rights has opened 2026 with a hire and a trio of execs in new roles.
Bryan Gabourie has been named EVP, Content Monetization and Head of Americas of the Blue Ant sales house, a role that will hand him control of the TV program sales business across the Americas. BBC Studios exec Bruno Liporoni, meanwhile, takes on the VP of International Sales in Australia, New Zealand and Japan role.
Nick Solowski has been promoted to VP, International Sales for the U.S. and Canada, and Jason Soh, VP of Distribution in Asia adds China and Korea to his remit.
Gabourie’s role will see him overseeing digital platform growth and VoD monetization, while taking a key role in commercial decision making and portfolio strategy. Liporoni, a 20-year sales vet including a decade at BBC Studios Australia, will primarily be focused on the ANZ region.
Solowski will now manage Blue Ant’s Canadian content deals and work more closely with the broader Americas leadership team.
“As we head into a new phase of growth for the company, these key executive appointments allow us to maximize our dedicated regional sales support in APAC and North America, critical to scaling our content portfolio and growing our genre offering,” said Mark Bishop, Co-President, Blue Ant Studios. “We’ve built a leadership team with deep market expertise and strong global relationships with a clear goal to further expand Blue Ant Rights and unlock new opportunities for our premium content worldwide.”
Blue Ant has been expanding significantly under CEO Michael MacMillan in recent years. The Canada’s Drag Race outfit recently completed a reverse takeover of Boat Rocker Media.
