As Season 2 of Landman comes to a close, Billy Bob Thornton assures fans they haven’t seen the last of Tommy Norris.
Despite his character’s ousting from M-Tex Oil in the Paramount+ show’s penultimate episode, the Oscar-winning actor recently declared that reports he’s leaving the show ahead of Season 3 are nothing more than “AI-generated crap.”
“There’s an AI report that Demi [Moore] and I are a couple now, and there’s one that I’m leaving the show,” Thornton told USA Today. “They have nothing to do with reality.”
Following the Taylor Sheridan & Christian Wallace show’s Season 3 renewal last month, Thornton said, “I’ll be there.”
With the Season 2 addition of Sam Elliott as Tommy’s dad TL, Thornton is looking forward to the show’s future. “It’s been great working with Sam. And I love doing the show. I’ll be here as long as it plays out. If it’s five years, great. If it’s six, I’m there,” he said.
Thornton earned a Golden Globe nomination last year for his Season 1 portrayal of Tommy, a petroleum landman at M-Tex Oil who has to step up after a fatal incident at one of his company’s rigs.
The Season 2 finale of Landman is now available to stream on Paramount+.
