Fresh off the Golden Globe awards, and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners atop our leaderboard with 224 wins followed closely by One Battle After Another with 203 wins. As the two films have traded Best Picture and Best Director wins across regional critics groups, this has clearly become a two film race. Even so, the Anderson feature remains strongly favored among critics. The next major test will come when the guilds awards start getting handed out in February.

We fully expect the landscape to shift as the season continues, and the rankings will likely look quite different in the weeks ahead. For now, the race is underway, and the uncertainty is part of the excitement. Which of these early wins will matter most in the long run remains to be seen.
