Free Play Days are always a nice Xbox Game Pass treat, but they often feel like they're over as soon as they start. Available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members, Free Play Days offer brief windows to try out some hits. If you haven't yet taken advantage of this weekend's set of temporarily free games, you've only got 24 hours left to check them out.

The current line-up of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, South Park: Snow Day, This War of Mine: Final Cut, and Cult of the Lamb will disappear after Sunday, January 25, as outlined on Xbox Wire. The titles are also currently discounted for those who wish to keep playing after the free availability ends.

If you're rushing to play through a complete game before the end of this weekend's Free Play Days, South Park: Snow Day will be your best bet. As a simpler adventure than the ambitious South Park: The Stick of Truth and its sequel The Fractured but Whole, beating Snow Day should only take five to ten hours, including side content.

For those who can dedicate a little more time, This War of Mine: Final Cut and Cult of the Lamb are both critically acclaimed options. This War of Mine tells a harrowing story of a city under siege, ignoring the typical action-centric approach of war games to highlight the civilian toll. Cult of the Lamb marries a dark concept with a cute aesthetic, providing a roguelite simulation experience about the creation of a prosperous cult.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, meanwhile, is what it says on the tin. If you're looking to step into the shoes of a young Sherlock to solve some cases, it should suit you just fine.

You Can Still Get Them On Discount On Xbox

In the likely event that you fail to finish a game before the end of Free Play Days, the current discounts are fairly attractive. Sherlock Holmes Chapter One and This War of Mine: Final Cut go the distance with 90% off sales, bringing them down to $4.49 and $1.99, respectively. Less dramatically, South Park: Snow Day has dropped from $29.99 to $13.49, while Cult of the Lamb slashed its $24.99 MSRP by 50%, making it $12.49 for the time being.

If nothing this weekend piques your interest, or you simply don't have time this Sunday, Free Play Days will bring a new assortment of trials for Xbox Game Pass subscribers when the next weekend rolls around.
