Where is the StarRupture save file located on PC

StarRupture’s early access version is now live on Steam, and you can enjoy base-building activities along with slaying aliens.

However, things can go wrong at any given moment. It’s also fair to expect bugs in the early access build. While there’s local progress available for you whenever you want, you can also create manual backups using the save file location.

StarRupture save file location

StarRupture is only available on Steam as of writing. However, the save file will be at a different location from the game files.

To find the save file, head to this filepath: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\StarRupture\Saved

The Saved folder will include all the individual save files that you create inside the game. It’s easy to identify the files as they will have the (.sav) extension at the end. You can also access this folder using the following command prompt in the Explorer window.

Additionally, there are ten manual slots available for you to use in StarRupture, aside from three autosave slots. All these saves can be accessed from the folder mentioned above. Although opening them outside the game won’t have much use, I have yet to figure out if you can change the in-game inventory values.

Since the game supports single and multiplayer, you can also easily distinguish between the two types of saves. You can choose to complete your adventure alone or form a team with your buddies. You will also enjoy the benefits of Steam Cloud, which will create an automatic backup for all your saves. If you want to resume your progress on a second device, you won’t need to transfer your save file manually.
