Whether or not we were ready, the New Year is officially underway. While you might be working on your resolutions or already getting the ball rolling on major changes, Netflix is here to remind you that you’re not alone and that plenty of fresh content awaits you in the approaching months. Gone are the days of Stranger Things, and here to stay are new seasons of favorites like The Gentlemen, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Bridgerton. In a thrilling and adventurous sizzle reel, the streamer has invited audiences to come along for another non-stop ride through the exciting universes of their favorite productions. And, while it wasn’t included along with the gripping teaser, which foreshadowed the coming of the Peaky Blinders movie and Season 2 of One Piece, we’re also celebrating the official return of Virgin River. Today, Netflix has shared a debut image from what will be the seventh season of its breakaway drama as well as announced its official return, which is slated for March 12, 2026.
That’s right, it’s nearly time to pack your bags and return to the world first imagined by author Robyn Carr in her novel series of the same name. And, to ring in the wonderful news, the show’s primary couple is front and center in an official first look image. As cozy and compatible as ever, Jack (Martin Henderson) and Melinda (Alexandra Breckenridge) hold one another as they have a conversation in front of the former’s bar, where so many memorable moments over the last six seasons have gone down.
Season 7 of Virgin River has been underway for quite some time now, with followers forced to wait nearly two years for its return. Rest assured, the cast and crew have been hard at work to continue the small-town story that follows a group of residents in the titular locale and their ever-shifting dynamics. The good news for fans of the series is that Season 8 has already been given the green light, news that came last summer, perhaps as a way to hold audiences over during the lengthy wait period.
What Has the Star of ‘Virgin River’ Been Up To in Its Absence?
Image via NetlixSpeaking of holding yourself over until Virgin River’s return, series star and mainstay, Breckenridge, recently reteamed with Netflix for the very festive holiday film, My Secret Santa. With Breckenridge starring opposite The Blacklist and New Amsterdam alum, Ryan Eggold, the film centers on a woman who transforms herself into Santa Claus to score free snowboarding lessons for her daughter. Even though the holiday season is technically over, we won’t tell if you screen the film while waiting for more info to come about Season 7 of Virgin River.
Catch up on the first six seasons of Virgin River now streaming on Netflix, before Season 7 arrives on March 12, 2026, and check out the new image above.
