Season 7 of Netflix‘s popular romantic drama Virgin River, starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, will premiere March 12, fifteen months after the December 2024 release of Season 6.
After putting out a couple of behind-the-scene photos from the filming of Season 7, Netflix has released a first official episodic image from the new season. It features the series’ lead characters, Breckenridge’s Mel Monroe and Henderson’s Jack Sheridan, looking still very much in the honeymoon phase after their wedding in the Season 6 finale.
Standing in front of what looks like a train engine, they are in a conversation with a woman who is only seen from the back. She is not identified and is meant to be a mystery. As Deadline reported exclusively in March, Virgin River added Sara Canning and Cody Kearsley as recurring cast members for Season 7. (Austin Nicholas also is believed to be in the new season.) It is unclear whether the woman in the photo is the character played by Canning or another new addition to the show.
Virgin River, one of Netflix’s “blue sky”, “comfort” series, is a romance story based on Robyn Carr’s novels that kicked off with nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe (Breckenridge) moving to the remote California town of Virgin River. Yearning for a fresh start, Monroe discovered that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she had to learn to heal herself before she could truly make Virgin River her home.
Virgin River‘s Season 7 returning main cast Includes Breckenridge, Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Grazzini, Kai Bradbury and Kandyse McClure.
The series, which already has been renewed for an eighth season, films in Vancouver. Season 7, which includes a location shoot in Mexico, is executive produced by showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Carr, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, and Jennifer Monroe. Co-executive producers include:Ian Hay, Thomas Ian Griffith, Mary Page Keller and Jackson Sinder.
