Victoria Beckham, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson battle it out for No1 in the official charts

The countdown is on for Victoria Beckham, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson to see who will clinch the official No1 in the charts this week.

At 6pm the nation will find out who has taken the top spot, which is currently being held by DJO's End of Beginning.

The stakes are high for all three artists.

Victoria, 51, will be hoping to earn her first solo number one on the official music charts, having topped the iTunes chart on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Harry, 31, and Louis, 34, are going head-to-head as former One Direction bandmembers.

Days after Victoria's estranged son Brooklyn posted his scathing six-page statement in which he claimed his mother danced 'inappropriately' at his 2022 wedding, an extraordinary social media campaign has given one of her solo songs a huge chart boost.

Victoria's 2001 single Not Such An Innocent Girl, a track which showcased Posh Spice's raunchy dance moves, shot to number one on the iTunes chart in the UK and Ireland on Thursday.

'Nothing says "British Culture" like collectively deciding to send Posh to the top of the charts because her son roasted her on Insta. Imagine both their faces,' reads a viral post on Instagram which has been shared by the likes of Katherine Ryan and Luisa Zissman.

Victoria's youngest son Cruz also helped with the promo effort, using his mum's song to soundtrack one of his Instagram Stories on Thursday.

The chart positions have been driven by a social media campaign which is determined to 'fix the national tragedy' that 'Victoria is the only Spice Girl without a solo #1.'

It may provide some comfort to Victoria, who is  said to have been left 'devastated' after taking the brunt in the vicious family fallout with son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz.

Despite proudly declaring he was a once a 'mama's boy', Brooklyn focused mainly on Lady Beckham in his lengthy statement, with his vitriolic comments leaving her 'on the floor in pieces'.

Amongst Brooklyn's long list of claims was the accusation that his mum 'hijacked' his first dance at his 2022 wedding and 'danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone'.

Brooklyn and Nicola have been at the heart of the acrimonious divide that has resulted in them snubbing all significant family celebrations over recent months, including his father Sir David's milestone 50th birthday and knighthood.

Days after her eldest son posted his scathing statement, Victoria could get the last laugh if she scores a number one (Nicola, Victoria and Brooklyn pictured in February 2024)

The chart positions have been helped by a social media campaign which is determined to 'fix the national tragedy' that 'Victoria is the only Spice Girl without a solo #1.'

Victoria was the last of the Spice Girls to go solo but despite huge promo blitzes in the early Noughties she failed to match the solo success of her bandmates.

Not Such An Innocent Girl served as her official debut solo single but despite an unprecedented media campaign, she was beaten to the top spot by Kylie Minogue's monster hit Can't Get You Out Of My Head.

Months earlier Victoria's team-up with producer duo True Steppers and former boyband alumni Dane Bowers for Out of Your Mind also lost out in a massive chart clash.

That track in fact scored the biggest first week sales for a solo Spice Girl single with over 180,584 copies sold in just a few days but lost the top spot to Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love), following a much-publicised chart battle.

Victoria, who soon pivoted to fashion design after her music flopped, has previously revealed producers used to turned off her microphone while she was on stage with the Spice Girls.

Meanwhile, One Direction fans will be eagerly waiting to see which of the former bandmates will make it out on top this week.

Harry returns with Aperture, the first single from his upcoming fourth album KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY., while Louis drops Imposter, the focus track from his third LP How Did I Get Here?

Three-time Grammy Award winner Harry has already gained huge attention online after revealing his new album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally and single.

The As It Was hitmaker is bound to shoot to number one in the charts which is unfortunate for Louis, who will be hoping for a number one single and album as well.

Taking to X ahead of the release, Louis appears to be aware of the conundrum and asked his 28.8million X followers for their 'help cutting through the noise'.

He penned: 'Going to need your help over the next few days to cut through the noise. Time to give this record the moment it deserves!'

Fans quickly took to the comments to ask the Lemonade singer if he is 'throwing shade' at his former bandmate Harry.

They wrote: '"cut through the noise" why do I feel like this is harry shade?; Is he trying to shade… Harry?; Oh Harry Styles when I catch you’.

Louis hasn’t responded to accusations of making a dig at the Watermelon Sugar singer but did post a ‘thank you’ to those who had supported him.

He penned: 'Let me take this moment to say thank you to every single person that has supported me over the years. You are throughout this record and everything I do.

'This album would never have sounded the way it does without all the power and confidence you lot have given me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! How did I get here?'

Louis is also due to be back on the road touring this year around the globe, starting March 2026 - His album is being released on Friday

It has been a busy week for Directioners as Harry and Louis prepare to drop new music, Zayn Malik kicked off his Las Vegas residency and Niall teased a new single, Drive Safe, with singer Myles Smith.

Louis showed his support to Niall on Instagram, writing, 'Love this!' under the announcement post.

So far, Louis, whose 2022 album Faith in the Future secured number one in the UK, has released three singles for his new album How Did I Get Here?, titled Imposter, Palaces, and Lemonade.

Lemonade managed to crack the top 30 in the UK singles chart after being release in September but follow-up single Palaces failed to make a splash.

Harry has previously released three solo albums, Harry Styles (2017), Fine Line (2019), and Harry's House (2022).

The British star has gone on to win three Grammy Awards, one for singer Watermelon Sugar and two for his album Harry's House.

Harry and Louis’s relationship has been complicated over the years, with plenty of rumours that they had fallen out in 2015 when One Direction split.

The pair denied the speculation, with their bandmate Niall Horan calling them all ‘brothers’, which they have all reiterated at various times in the decade since.

As Harry announced his new album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, which is set to be released on March 6, he paid a subtle tribute to his late One Direction bandmate Liam Payne.

The singer, who found fame with Liam in the band in 2010, honoured his friend in a sweet way while announcing his new music.

Liam died from polytrauma age 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16, 2024.

His funeral, which was held in Amersham, Bucks, was attended by all of his former bandmates: Harry, Zayn, Niall and Louis.

One of the floral tributes visible on the day was in the shape of a set of bowling pins, which were a nod to Liam's favourite pastime.

This was referenced by Harry in the images to announce his new album, where he is wearing a bowling pin print shirt underneath a yellow jumper and red tie.
