Here’s What the Critics Choice Awards Looked Like in 2006

Tom Pelphrey is up to whatever task his daughter has for him.

The Task star—who is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards for his work on the show—exclusively shared with E! News how he and fiancée Kaley Cuoco’s 2-year-old daughter Matilda has changed every aspect of his life.

“My daughter owns my life,” Tom joked with E! News’ Justin Sylvester on the red carpet at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., on Jan. 4. “She doesn’t even need to manipulate, she just owns me.”

The 43-year-old laughed, “She can be upfront about it because I’m always gonna say yes.”

The toddler has also changed the way that he and Kaley—who joined Tom for the Chelsea Handler-hosted ceremony, which is set to air live on E! and USA Networks—pick their roles, with Tom noting that the couple try “to be smart” about their choices.

“Obviously Kaley works too,” he explained. “So trying to be smart about schedule.”

The choice is often an easy one, as Tom added, “Being a dad is my no. 1 priority.”

And being a dad is certainly something Tom has cherished since day one.

"You realize there's no way to understand what it'll feel like until you get to feel it,” he shared on The Jess Cagle Show in 2024. “It's wild.”

’It’s the greatest thing I've ever got to experience,” he continued. “I know Kaley feels the same way."

Plus, fatherhood also has the added benefit of being “hilarious” if a little “exhausting at times.” But overall, the Ozark alum felt “all the good things.”

"The baby comes and suddenly without putting any conscious thought into it, you check back in with yourself and you realize your entire list of priorities has been completely rearranged,” he said. “And suddenly you're thinking and concerned about things that maybe never really concerned you before. It’s all about them and it's a really beautiful experience."
