This Smart Mattress Wants to Fix Your Sleep in Real Time, and It Just Debuted at CES

CES has never been short on sleep tech promises, and this year, Stareep, a China-based sleep technology company, made its debut with some serious hardware. The company showcased what it calls the world's first AI-powered SmartSleep ecosystem, a high-end mattress and adjustable base that actively adjusts to your body while you sleep.

"Sleep technology has barely scratched the surface of what AI can do," said Allen Cai, Founder of Stareep. "We didn't want to build another mattress that just reports data. We built a system that understands the body and actively responds to it, night after night."

Most smart mattresses and sleep trackers on the market today provide insights into your sleep patterns. They collect data and give you fancy charts, but often leave the "improving your sleep" up to you. Stareep is betting that the future of sleep tech isn't passive but involves real-time intervention.

The SmartSleep system features some innovative elements that I haven't seen in the market yet, including AI-powered adjustments while you sleep, self-adaptive optimization that evolves with use and multisensory sleep assistance that combines motion, sound and environmental cues. Stareep's MatchFit 2.0 system also uses your body's data to recommend the optimal mattress firmness and pillow height.

When asked about privacy and biometric data storage, the company says that personal sleep and biometric data will be stored in Stareep's private cloud and will be accessible to users through the brand's mobile app.

A representative from Stareep told CNET that the company has a target launch of early 2026. The company expects pricing to range from $1,500 to $15,000, depending on configuration, placing it within the premium end of the smart mattress market.
