‘They Will Kill You’ Trailer: ‘Ready or Not’ Meets ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ in Kirill Sokolov’s Cult-Centric Horror Outing

“Rosemary’s Baby” might have the edge on “demonic apartment building occupied by insane cult” and “Ready or Not” (and its upcoming sequel) takes up plenty of space in the current “oh, no, you gotta get away from these murderous freaks, girl” subgenre, but there’s a new contender in town, able to bridge the distance between those two horror mindsets.

It’s Kirill Sokolov‘s “They Will Kill You,” and for all the thrills and chills baked into its plot, this thing sure looks fun. The rising Russian filmmaker has long delighted in weaving horror and comedy for very happy genre audiences, including “No Looking Back” and “Why Don’t You Just Die!” His latest film looks like both a step up and a continuance of his brand of zippy horror with a comedic bite.

The Beauty

Per the film’s official logline: “‘They Will Kill You’ unleashes a blood-soaked, high-octane horror-action-comedy in which a young woman must survive the night at the Virgil, a demonic cult’s mysterious and twisted death-trap of a lair, before becoming their next offering in a uniquely brazen, big screen battle of epic kills and wickedly dark humor.”

The film stars Zazie Beetz (our heroine, easy enough to root for), Myha’la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. In the first trailer for the horror-comedy-action outing, Beetz’s newly-installed maid learns pretty quickly that her new gig cleaning at The Virgil isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Turns out, it’s a temple to Satan and, every month, the building’s residents (and even some fellow workers!) team up to kill one fresh offering to appease their ruler. Guess who is on the menu this month? But as this first trailer lets on, Beetz’s character isn’t one to go down without a fight.

The film is the first feature from Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti’s Nocturna banner. The pair produce, along with Dan Kagan. Executive producers include Sokolov, co-writer Alex Litvak, plus Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, and Carl Hampe.

Warner Bros.’ New Line Cinema will release the film in theaters on March 27, 2026. Watch the first trailer for “They Will Kill You” below.
