The Traitors’ domination of the entertainment world continues apace with a stage show set for 2027.
According to BBC News, The Traitors UK producer Studio Lambert has teamed with All3Media stablemate Neal Street on the West End version, which will “reimagine the show as a bold and surprising theatrical performance.” This will be the first time Studio Lambert and Neal Street have combined in such a way.
The play will tell a story inspired by the program’s format, in which a group of faithfuls try to root out the traitors, and will be staged at an unnamed London venue. It follows The Traitors: Live Experience, which launched in the West End last year as an immersive experience show.
The play is being written by Good Omens writer John Finnemore, according to reports. It will be directed by Olivier Award winner Rob Hastie, who staged shows like Operation Mincemeat and is deputy artistic director of London’s National Theatre.
The news is well timed about a show that feels at the peak of its powers.
Season 4 of The Traitors concluded on Friday night to almost 10 million viewers, coming a few weeks after the first UK celebrity version was a huge success. The Traitors airs around the world including in the U.S., where Studio Lambert produces a version for Peacock.
