‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Christopher Briney To Star In ‘Clashing Through The Snow’ Movie At Amazon MGM Studios

EXCLUSIVE: The Summer I Turned Pretty star Christopher Briney is staying in the Amazon MGM Studios fold as a lead in Clashing Through the Snow, a new comedy feature which is being billed as a Planes Trains and Automobiles for today’s generation.

Upgraded filmmaker Carlson Young will direct for Wonderland Sound and Vision partners McG and Mary Viola with production to commence in February.

Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment will also produce alongside the duo. Industry Entertainment’s Kyle Luker will executive produce along with Oscar-winning writer/director Ari Sandel (live action short film West Bank Story).
 
Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing wrote the script as a follow up to their Netflix hit Love Hard which was a top performer for the streaming service.
 
Briney broke through as co-lead Conrad Fisher in Prime Video’s hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty; the third and final season of which drew over 70M viewers worldwide. The actor will return for the recently announced The Summer I Turned Pretty feature film.

Briney also starred in the Paramount musical film Mean Girls. He’ll next be seen in a recurring role on Hacks. Briney made his film debut opposite Ben Kingsley in Daliland. He’s also starring in The Julia Set opposite One Battle After Another‘s Chase Infiniti and Jason Isaacs.

Young recently directed Prime Video’s hit rom-com, Upgraded. She also directed the film Trust starring Sophie Turner which was released in theaters last year. Most recently, she directed Amazon MGM Studios’ feature take of The Last Sunrise from Anna Todd’s bestselling romance novel series After. Young is repped by WME, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
 
Wonderland’s previous streaming successes include Amazon’s Musica, Netflix’s holiday romantic comedies, Love Hard and Holidate, which pulled in a combined 1.3 billion viewed minutes according to Nielsen reports. Additional romance/comedies from McG and Viola include I Feel Pretty starring Amy Schumer which grossed close to $95M worldwide; Before We Go starring Chris Evans, and When We First Me starring Adam Devine and Alexandra Daddario. Wonderland just wrapped post on the Chris Pratt project Way of the Warrior Kid for Skydance/Apple as well as Season 2 of Average Joe for Paramount+. Wonderland is repped by WME. 
 
Clashing Through the Snow marks Roklin’s sixth team up with Amazon MGM, previously having produced Upgraded starring Camila Mendes, The Other Zoe starring Josephine Langford and Drew Starkey, One Fast Move with KJ Apa and Maia Reficco, MAINTENANCE REQUIRED starring Madeline Petch and Jacob Scipio, as well as THE LAST SUNRISE starring Maia Reficco, Eva Longoria, and Fernando Lindez based on the novel from best-selling author Anna Todd’s series After.
