The Pitt Season 2 Cast & Character Guide

The Pitt is back for season 2, with many of the original cast returning, alongside a handful of fresh faces joining the team in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. Over the 15 episodes of season 1, the cast of The Pitt became intimately familiar thanks to the way the story unfolds over one eventful day.

Now, The Pitt season 2 explores another shift, eight months later, with Dr. Robby finishing out one final day of work before a three-month sabbatical. Which means someone else needs to step up to run the ER in his absence. And, of course, as the hospital is a training hospital, there are a number of up-and-coming medical practitioners joining the team as well.

Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch

Actor: Noah Wyle was born in Los Angeles, California. Having grown up around the film industry, it was natural that Wyle worked behind the scenes in his early career, even landing his first uncredited gig as an extra in 1984's Lust in the Dust. But it wasn't until 1990 that Wyle began actively working as an actor. A few years later, Wyle landed a central role in the medical drama series ER which prepared him well for his leading role in The Pitt.

Character: Noah Wyle plays Dr. Michael Robinavitch, who is commonly referred to as Dr. Robby in The Pitt. Dr. Robby runs the ER department at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. He is an excellent and creative doctor who usually works well under pressure. However, due to some traumatic experiences losing his mentor to COVID, and another personal connection in season 1, Dr. Robby is in serious need of a break and professional help to get his mental health in order.

Sepideh Moafi as Dr. Bashan Al-Hashimi

Actor: Sepideh Moafi was born in Bavaria, Germany, with Iranian heritage. At a young age, Moafi and her parents moved to America, and from a young age, she began to engage with the performing arts. In 2015 Moafi landed her breakout role with a recurring part as Loretta in HBO's The Deuce.

Character: Sepideh Moafi is set to play Dr. Bashan Al-Hashimi, who will be stepping up to lead the ER in Dr. Robby's absence. Little is known about her character, and how she will connect with the other medical practitioners in The Pitt.

Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans

Date Of Birth: December 1, 1966

Actor: Katherine LaNasa was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Growing up, LaNasa pursued her dreams of being a dancer, and she managed to be highly successful in that field before working as a choreographer on films, which led to her landing small roles in on-screen projects. For many years, LaNasa continued to show up in small parts in various shows and films, but her role as Dana in The Pitt serves as her true breakout as an actor.

Character: Katherine LaNasa plays Dana Evans, the charge nurse who works closely with Dr. Robby to keep the department moving. Dana has decades of experience as a nurse, and though it has worn her down in some ways, she continues to come back because she is fantastic at what she does.

Laëtitia Hollard as Emma

Actor: Laëtitia Hollard is fairly new to acting, though she has spent time studying at Julliard. Prior to securing a role in The Pitt, Hollard has appeared in a handful of short films.

Character: Laëtitia Hollard plays Emma in The Pitt. Emma is a new character joining the cast in season 2. A recent nurse school graduate who will likely look to people like Dana for guidance.

Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon

Actor: Patrick Ball grew up in Summerfield, North California. Ball's acting and performing career before The Pitt largely consists of working in theater. In 2022, he secured a degree in performing arts, and the following year, he made his on-screen debut in a guest role in Law & Order. In 2025, he secured a recurring role as Frank Langdon in The Pitt, which now serves as his breakout performance.

Character: Patrick Ball plays Dr. Frank Langdon in The Pitt. Langdon was a close friend of Dr. Robby, and one of the more senior residents helping to teach student doctors in The Pitt season 1. However, when Langdon's drug habit came to light, he was forced to take steps to get clean before continuing in his profession. It appears as though Langdon has made progress with his return in The Pitt season 2.

Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Samira Mohan

Actor: Supriya Ganesh was born in the USA, to Indian parents. She spent time growing up in India, before later returning to the US to complete her studies earning a degree in neuroscience. While studying, Ganesh also auditioned for acting roles, and in 2018, she made her screen debut in Blue Bloods. She has since performed in a handful of roles, with her character in The Pitt serving as her most substantial acting role to date.

Character: Supriya Ganesh plays Dr. Samira Mohan in The Pitt. Dr. Mohan is now a third year resident, and while she may be less experienced than doctors like Langdon and Robby, she is incredibly caring and intuitive, making her a highly effective doctor.

Fiona Dourif as Dr. Cassie McKay

Date Of Birth: October 30, 1981

Actor: Fiona Dourif was born in Woodstock, New York. Her father is actor Brad Dourif, best known for voicing Chucky, and it's fitting that her breakout role should come in the television series adapted around that same franchise where she played the leading part of Nica Pierce. Beyond this, Dourif has held a number of significant roles in other shows, such as Dirk Gently's Holistic Detecitve Agency, where she played Bart Curlish.

Character: Fiona Dourif plays Dr. Cassie McKay in The Pitt. Like Langdon, McKay is a resident who assists in teaching the student doctors alongside Dr. Robby. Dr. McKay's personal life was touched on in season 1, with McKay wearing an ankle monitor, and having a strained relationship with her son's father and his new girlfriend. However, McKay is a great doctor, and has a great deal of compassion and care for her patients.

Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa King

Actor: Taylor Dearden was born in Los Angeles, California. Dearden is the daughter of actor Bryan Cranston, which led to her debut screen role as an unnamed girl in Breaking Bad back in 2010. Since then, Dearden has progressed to tackle a handful of larger roles in film and TV, though her breakout role as a central character came playing Mel King in The Pitt.

Character: Taylor Dearden plays Dr. Melissa King in The Pitt. King is a gifted young doctor who has a wealth of medical knowledge and an ability to connect with patients with neurodivergence. This likely comes due to the fact that she has grown up with and cared for her younger sister who has severe autism.

Isa Briones as Dr. Trinity Santos

Date Of Birth: January 17, 1999

• Active Since: 2008

Actor: Isa Briones was born in London, England. Briones entire family have deep roots in musical theater, which led them to move from London to New York when Briones was ten months old, and then on to Los Angeles when Briones was seven. This led to her beginning her career as an actor as a child appearing in small roles, before landing a major recurring role in Star Trek: Picard in 2020.

Character: Isa Briones plays Dr. Trinity Santos in The Pitt. Santos is in some ways the opposite to Dr. King, due to her lack of empathy towards colleagues and patients at times. Despite this, Santos has a strong sense of justice, and earnestly seeks to give those in her care the best treatment and direction possible. Though her arrogance can also result in mistakes.

Gerran Howell as Dr. Dennis Whitaker

Actor: Gerran Howell was born in Wales. He pursued a career in acting from a young age, and landed a leading role in 2012 when he played Dracula in CBBC's Young Dracula Files. Since then, Howell has gone on to larger projects, and landed major roles in film and TV, leading up to his substantial role in The Pitt.

Character: Gerran Howell plays Dr. Dennis Whitaker in The Pitt. Whitaker arrived in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital alongside King, Santos, and Javadi. All are now R2s, and as such they will be expected to support newer student doctors as they continue their training.

Shabana Azeez as Dr. Victoria Javadi

Actor: Shabana Azeez was born in Australia. Azeez began performing in Australian projects, and was one part of a comedy duo known as "The Coconuts" from 2019 until 2024. However, her breakout screen role came playing Victoria Javadi in The Pitt in 2025.

Character: Shabana Azeez plays Dr. Victoria Javadi in The Pitt. Javadi is a child prodigy who progressed through medical school at an impressive pace, qualifying as one of the youngest doctors to join the team in season 1. Javadi was also influenced in studying medicince by both of her parents, who work at the same hospital, though she wants to prove herself without her parents oversight or hand-holding.

Amielynn Abellera as Perlah Alawi

Actor: Amielynn Abellera was born in Stockton, California. Not much is known about her personal life, and her career in acting is still in the early stages. However, her performance in The Pitt has established her as a talented actor.

Character: Amielynn Abellera plays Perlah Alawi in The Pitt. One of the more experienced nurses working in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, and a close friend of the affectionately named Princess.

Brandon Mendez Homer as Donnie Donahue

Actor: Brendan Mendez Homer was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Homer is a graduate of Julliard, and has appeared in several projects since 2016, though largely in smaller roles. His most substantial role comes in The Pitt, where he plays Donnie Donahue.

Character: Brendan Mendez Homer plays Donnie Donahue in The Pitt. Donnie is one of the nurses who works in the ER. He is experienced, and often provides great support to the student doctors who are learning in the department.

Kristin Villaneuva as Princess Dela Cruz

• Active Since: 2008

Actor: Kristin Villaneuva was born in the Phillipines before moving to Virginia when she was 15. She has been performing on screen since 2008, with numerous small roles in TV and film. However, her breakout role is widely considered to be the part of Princess Dela Cruz in The Pitt.

Character: Kristin Villaneuva plays Princess Dela Cruz in The Pitt. Next to Dana, Princess is the next most experienced nurse working the day shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. Ned Brower as Jesse Van Horn

Actor: Ned Brower was born in Chapel Hill, North California. He gained notoriety as a drummer and vocalist in a band called Rooney. However, Brower has made the shift to acting since 2001, and landed a number of recognizable roles early on. Once again, Brower's breakout role as a major character comes in The Pitt, where he plays Jesse Van Horn.

Jalen Thomas Brooks as Mateo Diaz

Actor: Jalen Thomas Brooks was born in Los Angeles, California. He began engaging with the world of theater as a teenager. However, he found it challenging to break in with many auditions falling through. Despite this, his big break came when Brooks began landing significant roles in TV shows in quick succession, with his role as Blaise in Animal Kingdom, Colton Davidson in Walker, and then shortly after, as Mateo Diaz in The Pitt.

Irene Choi as Joy Kwon

Date Of Birth: November 15, 1992

• Active Since: 2009

Actor: Irene Choi was born in South Korea, before moving to Vancouver, Canada. Choi has been performing on TV and in film for years, with her breakout role coming in Insatiable where she played the role of Dixie Sinclair. She has established herself as a talented comedic actor, though her role in The Pitt is certain to be more grounded and dramatic.
