As the most anticipated anime return of the month, Jujutsu Kaisen finally graces small screens once again after keeping fans in suspense for two years. Season 3 of the hit anime is expected to premiere this week, streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll every week as it airs in Japan, and will focus on the manga's "Culling Game" arc. Netflix has also announced that the new season will be simulcast on the platform, but there's a catch that's sure to dash fans' hopes.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Netflix officially revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will be available to stream only in select Asian territories, including India and Southeast Asia, starting January 9, 2026. This is clearly not what fans in Western territories want to hear just days before the fantasy anime's return; however, it may also not be surprising to some, as Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen is also missing from the Netflix catalog in the US, Australia, and the UK, among other Western countries.
Not to worry, though, as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will, as mentioned earlier, stream on Crunchyroll for North American audiences, with the first installment of the new season officially premiering on January 8, 2026. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Netflix is heading into the Winter 2026 season with only three confirmed anime titles for North American release, headlined by Pokémon Horizons Season 3. The streaming giant's offering is pretty scant compared to Crunchyroll, which enters the season with a massive slate of over 50 new and returning titles, including global exclusives for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 and Oshi no Ko Season 3.
'Jujutsu Kaisen' Season 3 Is the Most Anticipated Fantasy Anime of the Month
The upcoming episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen will pick up from the Shibuya Incident, which saw Geto and Mahito attempt to seal away Gojo for good. The season thrusts Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro into a lethal, nationwide battle royale orchestrated by Kenjaku, parts of which several fans have already caught a glimpse of last year. The first two episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 were released theatrically in December 2025 as part of the special compilation film Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution.
Expect new episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen in a few days, follow Collider for more anime updates, and check out Netflix's announcement below.
