Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.

For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things BoschMission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.

He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.

His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

Taylor Sheridan may be considered the president of Dad TV, but that's a title he doesn't hold in the little town of South Park, Colorado. Landman returned in November with a strong debut, yet it still premiered in only second place on Paramount+’s U.S. charts. It wasn't the only Sheridan show that suffered, either, because South Park is continuing to absolutely destroy everything in its path. As per FlixPatrol, the long-running genius comedy series is in the Top 3 in more than 25 countries and currently holds the #1 spot in the United States, ahead of every other show on the platform — including Sheridan’s biggest hits, Yellowstone, Tulsa King, and Mayor of Kingstown. Season 28 premiered on October 15, and it's clear why the whole thing remains so popular to this day.

What's caused it to have such a big spike? Well, let's just say the White House hasn't exactly been enamored with the work of Matt Stone and Trey Parker this year. That shouldn't exactly be a shock, given how sharp the aim of the series has been at President Donald Trump for the past year.

Why Does Donald Trump Dislike 'South Park'?

Well, Season 27 kicked off with an episode that saw Trump — with a micropenis — in a romantic relationship with Satan. The episode created such an uproar that the White House released an official statement, calling South Parka fourth-rate show hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”

Unsurprisingly, that response only fueled the fire. If anything, the backlash seems to have energized the creators. The numbers suggest audiences are very much on board, proving that no matter how many gritty prestige dramas Paramount rolls out, they still can’t compete with four foul-mouthed kids from Colorado. However, the idea of South Park deciding to run their own Sheridan satire show is something we'd like to see. Cartman as a vindictive John Dutton clone crushing a horse with his sheer weight might well be the crossover we didn't know we needed. Where do we sign the petition, and how can we all unite and make this happen?

South Park, Tulsa King, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, and Landman are all streaming now on Paramount+.
