Yesterday, the official Fortnite Twitter account hinted that something South Park-related would be unveiled on January 9th. “Chaos, loading…” the post read, alongside an image of Butters wearing a gaming headset. Less than 24 hours later, a full trailer for the upcoming South Park x Fortnite crossover event has leaked online.
The trailer, leaked on Twitter by user @ShiinaBR (via the original uploader @imscouterr), gives us our first look at the skins for Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Butters, all of whom are using cardboard mech suits (assumedly so their skins can be tall enough to fit the game’s standard). The leak also shows off Cartmanland, a remodeled area of Fortnite’s Season 7 map that’s based on Eric Cartman’s amusement park from the Season Five South Park episode of the same name.

If you’re a South Park fan, you likely already knew the original tease was a reference to Butters’ supervillain alter-ego Professor Chaos, who appeared in several episodes of the TV show as well as both of the Ubisoft-published South Park video games, The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole.
Towelie, South Park’s genetically engineered talking towel, pops up in the full trailer too, and will presumably be obtainable as a cosmetic pet companion through the Battle Pass. The Stick of Truth, a literal twig that the children pretended had the power to grant you control over the entire universe, is a major point of focus as well, although we don’t get to see it in action during the trailer itself.
There are no details on an exact release date for the crossover, nor does the leak feature any information regarding the prices for the South Park skins. We’ll likely hear more on the 9th of January, however, alongside an HD version of the trailer.
Update 1/7/26, 3:00 p.m. ET: Epic has released the official three minute trailer:
