Stranger Things season 5 is just 25 million views away from breaking a major Netflix record. The fifth and final season of the streamer's massively popular series was released in three parts, starting with Volume 1 (the first four episodes) on November 26, Volume 2 (the next three episodes) on December 25, followed by the series finale on December 31.
Now, with all eight episodes streaming for nearly two weeks, Stranger Things season 5 ranks sixth on Netflix's Global Top 10 most watched shows of all time with 115 million views and is just 25 million more away from breaking season 4's record of 140.7 million views, which ranks third below Adolescence season 1 (142.6M views) and Wednesday season 1 (252.1M views).
Stranger Things season 4 ranks above Wednesday season 2 in fourth place with 119.3 million views and DAHMER: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story in fifth with 115.6 million views, while Stranger Things season 5 ranks above Bridgerton season 1, The Queen's Gambit, Bridgerton season 3, and The Night Agent season 1.
Also, for the week of January 5–11, Stranger Things season 5 ranks third on Netflix's Global Top 10 shows with 9.3 million more views, finishing below the limited series His & Hers, Run Away, and above Stranger Things season 1, Emily in Paris season 5, Stranger Things season 2, Stranger Things season 3, Stranger Things season 4, The Good Doctor season 1, and Raw 2026 (January 5).
For the seventh consecutive week, all five seasons of Stranger Things appear on Netflix's Global Top 10 shows. For this week, season 1 ranks fourth with 5 million views, followed by season 2 at No. 6 with 4.5 million, season 3 at No. 7 with 4.4 million, and season 4 at No. 8 with 4.1 million.
Netflix compiles its all-time rankings by tracking how many views a title receives within its first 91 days on the platform or, for shows like Stranger Things that release episodes in multiple volumes, within the first 91 days of each release batch. As a result, the first four episodes will keep receiving eligible views through February 24, the next three through March 25, and the finale through March 31.
In turn, Stranger Things season 5 should continue climbing the chart and eventually pass season 4. Following the release of its series finale on New Year's Eve, season 5 quickly entered Netflix's Global Top 10 most watched shows of all time at No. 9. A week later, it has already climbed to No. 6, overtaking Bridgerton seasons 1 and 3 and The Queen's Gambit.
