Stranger Things may be over, but the Stranger Things collabs live on. That includes the hit Netflix series' return to the game Dead by Daylight, and the addition of two new Survivors and a new Killer borrowed from Stranger Things.
Available now via Dead by Daylight's Steam public test build and officially launching on Jan. 27, Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 brings heroes Eleven and Dustin Henderson, and series big bad Vecna (aka "The First") to Behaviour Interactive's cooperative multiplayer survival horror game. They join currently available Stranger Things Survivors Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington, and Killer Demogorgon, which were released way back in 2019, in Dead by Daylight.
To keep the Stranger Things nostalgia train going, Behaviour Interactive and Netflix are bringing a couple of Legendary outfits to Dead by Daylight: Eddie Munson (for Dustin) and Robin Buckley (for Nancy). Players will be able to fight for their lives (or slay their Stranger Things-inspired opponents) in the game's version of Hawkins National Laboratory.
Behaviour did not release specific details on the new Survivors' abilities, but teased Vecna's in a news release:
Vecna, The First['s] dark powers are guaranteed to keep Survivors on their heels. The First can bend the world around him, manifesting and weaponizing the physical presence of the Upside Down within The Fog. Sinister vines lash out at the unsuspecting as Vecna disappears beneath the ground, reemerging to curse any within his path. The haunting chime of grandfather clocks scattered across the Map may be the Survivors’ only salvation…
Stranger Things recently wrapped its fifth and final season on Netflix, with a cathartic and emotional finale to the show after nearly a decade. But while Stranger Things is done, and creators Matt and Ross Duffer plan to move on to their new home at Paramount, Netflix isn't completely out of the Stranger Things game. There's still an animated series and a new live-action spinoff in the works, with the Duffers "heavily involved."
For now, though, Stranger Things fans will have to sate themselves with rewatches, the Stranger Things Broadway play, and games of Dead by Daylight.
