Spider-Man manages to survive a new fight with his strongest villain, who is left defeated on the floor, but there is a twist to their meeting. Marvel has big plans for Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies. The popular franchise will continue this year with Spider-Man: Brand New Day's star-studded cast, which features heroes like the Punisher and the Hulk.

On the Marvel Comics front, Peter Parker is also having adventures with other heroes, just like his cinematic counterpart is set to have in the upcoming MCU movie. However, the main The Amazing Spider-Man book has taken Peter to space, where he has joined a team that includes Rocket Raccoon and others. Now, Spider-Man has faced the villain who started it all.

Spider-Man Gets His Rematch With His Strongest Villain

The beginning of Spider-Man's space adventures is connected to Hellgate. Held as the "most powerful foe Spider-Man has ever faced," according to Marvel, Hellgate withstood all that the wall-crawler came up with to defeat him in their first fight, which took place in The Amazing Spider-Man #7-#8. The villain ended their confrontation with a mighty punch.

That punch simply sent Spider-Man all the way through the galaxy, landing on a distant planet. That started Spidey's cosmic adventures with Rocket, Symbie, Xanto Starblood, Raelith the Wretched, and Nial. After making the most of his new reality, Spider-Man found it was time to return to Earth, and that led the Marvel hero to another confrontation with Hellgate.

However, this time, the outcome of the fight was different. Instead of beaming with pride as he pummeled Spider-Man, Hellgate was left on the floor, defeated. That said, there is a twist to the villain's fall, as Spider-Man did not defeat his most powerful foe in a straight fight. Instead, Peter's friends threw their spaceship at Hellgate, who was left lying on the ground, defeated.

Spider-Man And Hellgate Will Fight Again

As Hellgate lies on the floor, he makes it clear that this was not a fair ending to their fight, claiming that Spider-Man was a coward and that he did not beat him. Their battle is teased to be continued where it started many issues ago, back on Earth. After two fights with very different outcomes, Spider-Man needs to best Hellgate in battle once and for all.

It was exciting to see Spider-Man fully let loose in this new fight with Hellgate. He is well aware of the danger that the villain poses, so seeing Spider-Man operate in full force was thrilling. Will that be enough to stop Hellgate on Earth? With a combination of Spider-Man's space and Earth storylines and characters, that just might be.
