Slayyyter has announced her third album “Wor$t Girl in America,” releasing March 27 via RECORDS/Columbia Records.
The pop singer plans to drop her first record as part of her deal with Columbia, which she revealed to Variety in August. To coincide with the album announcement, Slayyyter will release the single “Dance…” along with an accompanying video this Friday. She previously released several tracks from the project including “Crank,” “Cannibalism!” and “Beat Up Chanel$.”
“This album feels like something I was always meant to create,” says Slayyyter in an exclusive statement to Variety. “I went into the studio over the past two years thinking about how if I had one last project to my name, what that would sound like. If I died tomorrow what would I want to leave behind. This record feels like a perfect representation of who I am as a person and an artist.”
According to a press release, “Wor$t Girl in America” is inspired by Slayyyter’s upbringing in St. Louis and described as “iPod music” that conjures the “Midwest-core tweaker bar rat” characters from her adolescence.
Slayyyter is prepping her major label debut following 2023’s “Starfucker” and 2021’s “Troubled Paradise,” both of which dropped in the wake of her eponymous 2019 mixtape. Following the release of “Wor$t Girl in America,” Slayyyter will take the stage at Coachella and Governors Ball this spring and summer.
