Skye P. Marshall Teases What New ‘Matlock’ Characters Will Bring To CBS Series In 2026

Skye P. Marshall is hyping up Matlock fans about the two new actors joining the hit CBS legal drama when the show returns with the second half of Season 2. New episodes are coming on February 26.

As we revealed on December 11, Sarah Wright Olsen and newcomer Henry Haber joined the Season 2 cast. Wright Olsen will play Gwen, an efficiency expert analyzing the firm, and Haber as Hunter, a younger associate from the floater pool who is a total bro.

While chatting with Deadline at the Golden Globes red carpet, Marshall teased, “The two new cast members brought such a completely different light, energy, and charisma to our storyline that I cannot wait for our audience to witness it.”

She also revealed that since getting back to work following the holidays, she has not yet worked extensively with the newbies, but is so looking forward to it.

The cast additions follow series regular David Del Rio’s exit, whose final appearance took place in Episode 7. Since Season 1, Del Rio played Billy Martinez, an associate at Jacobson Moore, and a colleague of Marshall’s character Olympia Lawrence and Kathy Bates’ Madeline “Matty” Matlock / Madeline Kingston.

Series showrunner and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman also shared a teaser about the two new additions.

“We’re always bringing in new associates, new people, because we want to give our characters different energies to react to, and different obstacles to overcome. And one thing that we were talking about in the writers’ room that we’ve been wanting to bring in is a bro, like a real bro,” Snyder Urman said.

During her chat with Deadline at the Golden Globes, Marshall also reflected on the myriad jobs she had while auditioning for her dream gig. After taking her first acting class with Lesly Kahn, she worked as a background actor, a catering waiter, and an Uber driver.

Prior to her breakout role in Matlock, she had roles in CBS’ East New York, Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, NBC’s This Is Us, and Good Sam for CBS. While playing Dr. Lex Trulie on Good Sam, she worked alongside Edwin Hodge, whom she would go on to marry in 2024.
