In a triumphant full circle moment, Seth Rogen has won his first Golden Globe.

His win for best actor in a TV comedy comes months after his showbiz satire “The Studio” set an entire episode at the awards ceremony, recruiting actors like Jean Smart and Adam Scott and executives like Ted Sarandos to play sent-up versions of themselves.

“This is so weird! We just pretended to do this. And now it is happening!” Rogen said, chuckling as he clutched his Golden Globe award. “I thought the only way I would get to hold one is to create a show to give myself a fake one.”

In the episode, Rogen’s Matt Remick does everything he can to be thanked by Zoë Kravitz on stage, while his fellow exec Sal Saperstein (played by Ike Barinholtz) is effortlessly lauded and name-dropped by winner after winner.

Presenting the category were Kravitz and Dave Franco, who also guest starred as himself on “The Studio.” The two actors hugged Rogen as he accepted the award.

In his speech, Rogen thanked his fellow nominees, calling out “Only Murders in the Building” duo Steve Martin and Martin Short. “I remember growing up watching you guys, my whole life thinking, ‘One day I’m going to beat them.'” He laughed, “I did not think that.”

In the category, Rogen bested Adam Brody (Netflix’s “Nobody Wants This”), Glen Powell (Hulu’s “Chad Powers”), Jeremy Allen White (FX’s “The Bear”) and Steve Martin and Martin Short (both in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building”).

Rogen was previously nominated for a Golden Globe in 2023, for his supporting role in the Hulu bio-miniseries “Pam & Tommy,” in which he played Rand Gauthier, the man who stole and sold Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee Jones’ sex tape.

“The Studio” debuted on Apple in March and has been renewed for a second season. With 13 wins in September, it broke the Emmys record for most-awarded comedy series in a single season.
