Sam Armytage enters her influencer eras as she pressures brand to provide her with free products for life after she promoted them on Instagram

Samantha Armytage is entering her influencer era. 

The television host cheekily asked fast food giant KFC for a lifetime supply of their delicious fried chicken after promoting the brand on Instagram. 

The 49-year-old garnered the attention of the brand after donning a KFC cardboard bucket as a hat while attending the cricket - a fun Aussie tradition that many partake in during the match. 

Sam shared a selfie in which she was drinking a beer and wearing the cap on Instagram, alongside a cheeky caption. 

'What can I say... I am nothing if not a woman of the people,' she wrote, adding 'not sponsored but should be. And no - I'm not dating The Colonel.'

KFC's official account noticed the post, replying to Sam's comment: 'Queen of the buckethead'. 

Sam then shared a screenshot of the exchange on Instagram Stories, adding the caption: 'Surely this deserves free KFC for life?' while tagging the brand. 

The Today show star then displayed her loyalty once more by sharing a second image in which she had the bucket on her head.

She also added another cheeky caption that read, 'Never forget' while once again tagging KFC. 

Sam recently made her highly anticipated return to Today, after a series of guest stints over the past year.

The one-time 'queen' of brekkie TV has been on the couch for the festive season while regular hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo headed off on a lengthy Christmas break.

Sam has been sharing hosting duties on Today alongside Nova radio star Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli.

Sam, who rose to fame thanks to her high-profile gig as host of Sunrise, sent shockwaves through the industry when she announced she was leaving the top-rating brekkie show and the network in 2021.

Jumping ship to Nine in 2024, there was much speculation Sam would replace Sarah Abo.

The TV veteran appeared on 2GB with Ben Fordham in October, where she was asked about the rumours.

'Ben, you know how this game works - these stories get planted, leaked,' she began, before revealing that she had bumped into Sarah and comforted her in the wake of the headlines.

'Sarah's wonderful... I saw her at the Nine Upfronts – the other night. We gave each other a hug and I said, "Are you okay?"

'She's good. Sarah and Karl are fantastic,' Sam added of the current Today line-up.

She then stood her ground, revealing that her hosting stint on The Golden Bachelor was her focus.
