Actor Joey Pollari is staying in the Ryan Murphy business, joining the super-creator’s next season of the cold-blooded killer franchise “Monster.”
Pollari will star in “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story,” Variety has learned exclusively. He joins a cast that includes the previously announced Ella Beatty (Warren Beatty and Annette Bening’s daughter), Charlie Hunnam (of “Monster: The Ed Gein Story”), Rebecca Hall and Vicky Krieps.
Pollari will star as John Morse, the infamous accused axe murderer’s uncle. Beatty will play the title role, with Hunnam as her father Andrew and Hall as her stepmother Abby. The next chapter in Murphy’s anthology will examine the infamous American crime, trial and aftermath.
Pollari was just seen in “Ed Gein” in a spotlight role as “Psycho” star Anthony Perkins. Next up is FX’s “The Beauty,” another Murphy project about a sexually transmitted disease that makes its victims gorgeous before turning fatal. Hall also stars in the series with Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Jeremy Pope, Bella Hadid and Anthony Ramos. The project is based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. The 11-episode series hits Jan. 21.
Pollari’s previous credits include Fox’s “Love, Simon” and John Ridley’s 2015 ABC series “American Crime.” Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Pollari worked steadily as a young adult in shows like CBS’ “Cold Case” and in the Disney original film “Skyrunners.”
