Dancing With the Stars winner Robert Irwin debuted a fresh look when he surprised his mom Terri Irwin with a new mustache as a prank.
Robert Irwin Reveals Warning He Gave Family Before "Spicy" DWTS Performance
Robert Irwin tried out a new look in the wild.
The wildlife conservationist debuted a brand new mustache in order to prank his mom Terri Irwin, and the results were priceless.
“It has been a minute since I shaved,” Robert said in a Jan. 3 TikTok while showing off his grown out facial hair. “I've had like a week off filming, but I'm about to go back on set, so I'm going to take this opportunity to play a little prank on the crew.”
The 22-year-old could barely contain his laughter while trimming his beard into what he called a “perfect” mustache.
He even had some fun impersonating different pop culture references, including a pilot from Tom Cruise’s hit movie Top Gun and Nick Offerman’s mustachioed Parks & Recreation character Ron Swanson.
When Robert—son to Terri and her late husband Steve Irwin—arrived on set, he was greeted with screams of surprise (read: disgust) and some playful banter from his mom, who said, “As your mother, I’m incredibly proud.”
As for if Terri wanted her son to keep his furry new friend? She shook her head and sarcastically added, “Definitely.”
While Robert had some fun pranking Terri with his new facial hair, it’s not the first time he has shocked her with his looks. Indeed, the Dancing With the Stars champ surprised his mom and sister Bindi Irwin by showing off some spicy, shirtless dance moves with his partner Witney Carson in September.

"I just went, 'You know what? I'm just gonna go for it,'” he said on the Dec. 18 episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast. “I said to them, ‘So this one's a little bit edgy.’ And they're like, ‘Oh, that's great. Go for it.’ But then afterwards, they were like, ‘Whoa.’"
Robert added of his “surprise” decision, “You know what? Life is short. You gotta just embrace it. There's nothing wrong with that. It was fun."
