Jennifer is a TV News Editor at ScreenRant. She started her journey in entertainment media in 2022 when she first joined Valnet at CBR before coming to ScreenRant.
Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available.
Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show.
Her Alien: Earth coverage for Screen Rant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far.
She began her career as an editor in 2014. She was initially a finance editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism.
During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it.
Rhea Seehorn opened up about how she ended up starring in Pluribus after she won the Best Actress in a Drama Series category at the Critics' Choice Awards.
According to People, the actor revealed that she signed on for the lead role before ever reading the script for Apple TV+’s Pluribus. She said that the reason why she took the part so willingly was that she trusted Vince Gilligan, who created Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul, which Seehorn starred in. "Honestly, I’ll go wherever Vince wants me to go," she explained.
When Gilligan first approached Seehorn about Pluribus, he told her he had written a role specifically for her but wasn’t ready to share the script yet. Despite not seeing the material, the actor immediately agreed to take on the part, trusting his vision and their long-standing professional relationship.
In the science fiction series, Seehorn stars as Carol Sturka, a romance writer who is immune to a virus that transformed billions into eerily happy and unreasonably positive people. Pluribus was summarized by Apple TV+ as "The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness."
Gilligan described Carol as "a troubled and imperfect hero." He added that the character was trying her best to save the world from the alien virus despite her personal struggles.
Seehorn recalled the first day she and the creator worked together on Pluribus. Gilligan mused about how the two of them had been working together for 10 years at that point. She said that at first she didn't believe him or thought that he was just exaggerating. However, shortly after, she realized that, including their time together on Better Call Saul, they had been working together for over a decade. She mentioned that it was a lot to take in.
Seehorn added that having a role specifically written for her by one of the most celebrated writers of her generation was overwhelming in a positive way. She says she's still processing the fact that Gilligan trusted her enough to create something just for her.
[Gilligan said] 'we’ve been working together for 10 years.' And I was like, ‘No, we haven’t.’ Then, I did the math because of Better Call Saul, and it has been that long. And for somebody who I think is one of the best writers, television writers, probably just writers of all time in our generation, to say that they want to create a role for me — that’s a lot. I’m still working on taking that one in.
