Pokémon Go 'Pinch Perfect' event guide

Pokémon Go’s latest event, "Pinch Perfect" features claw-having Pokémon and it runs from Jan. 6-11. This event debuts Klawf, alongside the shiny version of Dhelmise.

This event also has doubled XP for catching Pokémon, so now's a pretty good time to just head to an area with lots of spawns, pop a Lucky Egg, and get catching.

Notably, if you want a Klawf, you're not going to find one in the wild. You'll have to nab it from Field Research or Timed Research Tasks. We list all the event bonuses, including these tasks, below.

Pokémon Go 'Pinch Perfect' event Timed Research and rewards

Throughout this event, new Timed Research will appear, each giving you encounters with Dwebble, Corphish, Clauncher, and Klawf. Each research will be around for two days. It's likely that all of these tasks will be the same, just with different rewards, but we're not 100% sure of that yet. We'll update this guide with more information once we have it.

'Pinch Perfect: Dwebble Timed Research' step 1 of 1 (Jan. 6-8)

• Catch 5 Pokémon (Dwebble encounter)
• Catch 10 Pokémon (Dwebble encounter)
• Catch 15 Pokémon (Dwebble encounter)
• Catch 20 Pokémon (Dwebble encounter)
• Catch 25 Pokémon (Dwebble encounter)

Rewards: Klawf encounter, 950 XP, 950 Stardust

There's also a premium research that requires you to buy a pass for $1.99. We only recommend buying this pass if you're shiny hunting any of the featured encounters and you want more chances to find them. This research has two steps, but they're the same, which you can see below.

Spinning a PokéStop during the event period may yield one of these tasks:

• Catch 5 Pokémon (10 Poké Balls, 5 Great Balls, or 3 Ultra Balls)
• Catch 10 Pokémon (Corphish, Dwebble, or Clauncher encounter)
• Catch 15 Pokémon (1,500 Stardust)
• Win a raid (Dhelmise or Klawf encounter)

Pokémon Go 'Pinch Perfect' event boosted spawns

These Pokémon will spawn more frequently during the event period, according to Niantic's blog post:

• Tirtouga
• Archen
• Clauncher*

These have also spotted in the wild, according to Leek Duck:

• Sandshrew
• Tentacool
• Onix
• Rhyhorn
• Magikarp
• Trapinch
• Drilbur

*There is an "increased chance" of finding this shiny in the wild as part of the event.
